Boo!

How much are folks charging for training fellow CM's? I have had to buy all my my own skills so far. Except for one. Which I paid 20% of NPC cost (1200cr). I felt this was a pretty good deal.

Any opinions?

However I have spent 1240 apprentice points and have capped at a further 1240 apprentice points (620 per master skill). So the apprentice points are not an issue for me. At least not at the moment.

On Sunrunner we still don't have many master combat medics (I imagine there are some I just haven't met them yet) so we sort of network with each other for training. Being first is spiffy for the day or so you can brag about it but you pay the cost for that. You have to pay the NPC then train your friends. It has worked out pretty well really. I've only had to pay for half the master-level skills I've earned thanks to a partnership with a fine fellow CM. I also make customer contacts for TioChem Pharmacuticals through training so it all works out.

actually i stoped lvling for a week so others could pass me...then i asked those that i trained to train me in the upper level skills lol...

devious yes..cheap definately lol...

besides you get less apprentice xp for the higher level skills then u do the middle level skills lol...

i have never charges but i usually tip

Being that we are in a profession that harps so much on tipping I find that most people give you a little cash without being asked.

I would love to apprentice CM, but sadly I've only seen two other Combat Medics on Scylla.

I've met a couple of Expert Combat Medics on Starsider, and my general rule of thumb for tipping for their training (which also happens to be the cost being advertised by one) is to pay 1000 credits per tierfor eachskill. In other words all LVL I skillsare 1000 credits each, LVL II 2000 each, and so forth. Compared to the NPC rate, and the time it takes to make the money to pay for the skills,Ithink it is only fair to tip/paythose who have had to pay a lot more in their journey ahead of us. Whether you charge or don't charge is a personal decision, but I have no problems paying for the elite skills, especially at those rates.

Always thought 10% of the NPC cost was the going rate for tipping PC trainers, myself. Just got novice combat medic myself last night, and haven't needed to train a cm skill yet, so am interested to see if a CM actually asks upfront for a fee that's higher than 10%. I personally don't agree with asking an apprentice to pay for training; it gives the trainer apprentice xp, and it doesn't cost them a thing in resources, credits, or HAM.

There is a group of us on Chilastra that share training. We pay each other 1k-2k per skill usually. I've been charging other CM's 1k a skill as I don't need the apprentice points anymore.
