Thread: Question about CM/Doc
Do you guys thing a CM/Doc could be good for anything? And I'm talking Master on both professions.
CM's are a bunch of fun when PvPing, and actually do a fair amount of the attacking.
Doctor is more of a support profession, and therefor(in my experiences) isnt full of as much action. However Docs get buffs which are an excellent source of income. Combat Medics can really make much cash without the aid of another person or additional skills.

PvE- Forget about it unless your in agroup, and all you pretty much do is heal. You will get incapped before your poison will do much to an animal, and in a group the group will take it out before your poison ticks. Only good thing for CM in PvE is large large animals such as Krayt Dragons
I agree with this. I tried CM out as a master doc. You will only have enough points left over to take a marksman skill to IV. Even then, you will kill a mob faster with your weapon than you would with poisons. Poisons would help, but not compared with taking an elite weapon class.
Then there's the collecting resources for both doc and CM. They ue completely diffferent resource types, though you might get lucky and have a gas that you used in buffs to be used in CM components. CM resources are alot more specific than doc resources, thus making it even harder to obtain.
If I remember correctly, only things a doc has to worry about is class 4 liquid petro and dolovite iron. Where as CM's need to find 2 specific types of gas, a specific type of radioactive, and a specific type of aluminum.
I am a master CM / master Doc, and I love it. I cant kill anything solo, but starting as a Doc, I grew into the support class. I like being able to throw ranged and area heals while also being able to ress, buff, and cure states.
Both PvP and PvE I feel usefull and I enjoy my gameplay

This is where I relate to you.. The only thing I think that is going to be frustrating about CM/Doc is going to be finding all of the **edit** resources!! ![]()
Thanks for all of the replies guys!

I'm not really worried about making money anyways.. I already make tons of cash buffing and selling resources as it is.. My major concern is whether or not I will be viable in both PvP and PvE battles.. I mean, will I make a REAL difference in the tide of a battle..
thanks for the replies,

PvP- Combat Medics are the most powerful profession right now. Huge demand for your poisons/diseases.
PvE- Forget about it unless your in agroup, and all you pretty much do is heal. You will get incapped before your poison will do much to an animal, and in a group the group will take it out before your poison ticks. Only good thing for CM in PvE is large large animals such as Krayt Dragons
Finding resources isnt that bad once your set up. but its a big expense.
for example, I own these harvesters all at max BER
4 heavy gas harvesters
4 heavy mineral harvesters
4 heavy chemical harvesters
8 heavy flora harvesters
4 fusion generators
2 heavy water harvesters
So when a resource does show up I am prepared to hit it HARD and get a few hundred thousand of it or more while its there. Once you build up a stockpile you dont have to harvest again for months.
I dont sell my meds, I only use them for myself.

I play that combo with my main char and I can tell you, leading troops into battle a Doctor/CM is a fun character to play
Another option (what I'm doing), is Master CM/0440 Doctor/xx4x pistoleer (haven't decided what other branch to take).
Once I try out the pistoleer template, I might consider switching to a similar Rifle Template, depending on what they do to the combat system.
