Thread: Where is the chef food: antidote?
It would be tactical: You can only use it twice in PvP (it's a drink).
It would have a plus and a minus (you would suffer some type of stat damage while using it and get some bonus to stats while using it - however it's primary use would be to slow/cure poison).
I'm just musing here, let the flames begin.
actually i think this is a brilliant idea
however i think it should be doctor crafted not via chef, either that or a combo of the two-like chef needs to make the base the doc the active ingredient. Doctors should be the one to make the final product however. Doctors are mass selling buffs, they should have something else to offer. Just brainstorming, either way it would be a great way to appease the babies
They are doing a complete food revamp with more foods that will act as temporary skill modifiers. So it wouldn't shock me if they had anti-poison food.
But instead of food as an antidote (there already is an antidote - a doctor cure), it should be a + to resistance. +50 resistance is enough to avoid poisons without ARCs almost every time and avoid those with ARCs some of the time.
This creates a system of trade-offs which ultimately makes the game more interesting. You want cures? Get doctor, but then you have fewer skill points for combat. Want resists? Down a drink, but then you are more full and can't down another helpful drink for a while. You're a CM fighting people with resists? Then you have to use your higher potency poison, which does less damage.
Right now, there are very basic tactics - if I fight profession A, I need to do B. But it should be more complicated - if I fight profession A, I need to do B. But then they might do C, in which case, I need to do D. The system is slowly getting there (remember when CMs, rifleman, and bounty hunter/pistoleer dabblers were the only viable PvP templates? Now there are perhaps 6 or so viable PvP templates), but we aren't there yet.
That wasa long-winded way to say that I support poison defenses as long as they don't tread on the current doctor cure and as long as they have a trade-off of some sort.
