Thread: The diseas timer
Nope. Earlier testing done by me indicates that poisons are on a 10 second timer and diseases are on a 40 second timer. No damage is done until the first tick after the throw occurs, so in the case of diseases it takes a long time.
From the target's perspective, lag causes the first tick to seem a bit faster (you see the "you have been poisoned" message then you take damage 7 or 8 seconds later), but this appears to be lag related. After the first tick, the timer isextremely consistent (10 or 40 seconds).
Someone else suggested that stronger poisons tick faster (all of my experiments were donewith weak A, B, and C meds experimented for potency only), but I haven't confirmed this.
Diseasse is only a good tool in mass PvP battles or to incap an opponent. In large battles people will accumulate hugh disease wounds. If a CM gets into their base, but you sink a mind disease into him... he will black bar in a not-so-long amount of time...
Using Mind disease is an esential part of mass pvp combat. The side that can effect the others mind in a whole is usally the longer lasting. Rifle men and Tka's count heavily on CM in mass pvp.
1 on 1 Disease is a waste. Poisen on there mind and health is the way to go.
