Thread: Incapping using Poison+Disease
First of all, is the use of poison and disease to incap people an exploit? I'd like to believe not, however should it be, I'll abide by that.
Second thing is, I've found a jedi PC that is constantly AFK macroing force knockdown on a rooftop where he can't be attacked(this pretty much matches every definition of exploiting a loophole in the system I can think of... he's using the fact that the roof isn't inside the house to his advantage since the jedi TEF wont get him booted). I have no problem with jedi(I'm on profession no 16 myself
), but I don't like seeing exploits used(especially to grind a jedi up while AFK with zero risk), and would thus like to teach this guy a lesson he shouldn't forget, by making him lose one of his lives and encouraging him to play jedi the way it was meant to be played.
I've only been master combat medic for a short time, but when messing about with it, testing stuff, I incapped someone with a combination of mind disease and poison, but have not been able to repeat this feat.
Is there some trick to doing this?
Duel someone, have them stand close to the jedi, below him whatever as long as he is within say 15m of the guy you are dueling. Now throw an AE poison and AE disease pack on your buddy. The AE should hit the Jedi and eventually he will be incapped from the poison and disease. Note, this will only work if the Jedi can actually be attacked in the first place. Ever throw an AE poison at someone with a TEF while other mobs are in the radius? It affects them too. Same concept...
I have a friend that is an Imp and spy. He's a smuggler. When I plan on raiding a base it is very inconvenient to not have a target at the mouth of the base so the AE can hit the Imps behind the walls. I duel my smuggler friend. He runs up to the mouth, I hit him once and he FDs. I then lob unholy hell at him hitting everyone else in range of the AE. Note, this is not an exploit. Even if I didn't my smuggler friend to give me a target, my friends would still do their best to incap someone at the mouth of the base to give me a target. This is just more convenient.

great... this is what I was thinking of doing and I've already prepared the area poisons/diseases that'll reach him where he is, but when I last tested them they just kind of fizzled and did nothing once wounded down to 1/1...
Poison + disease should kill him. They got rid of the poison grace period after incap so once he gets up (assuming he is still poisoned and diseased) he will get incapped again... then again... 3rd time = death. I had to be careful when testing poison + disease stuff post patch to avoid accidentally killing my test subject.
Interesting. I will have to abuse my poor test subject some more then. I wanted to retest tick times on stronger poisons anyway to try and confirm these claims of 8 second poison ticks and 20 second disease ticks.

it's also exploiting....now line up to be banned.
rLHitman -
I try to keep up with everything that involves Combat Medics and this is news to me. Please try to do one of the following.....
1) Provide a link or at least say where we can go to verify this is an exploit. I haven't heard that it is and would be interested in confirming it.
2) If for some reason you were mistaken and posted this without hearing it from a reliable sorce, please refrain from posting unreliable information as fact on the CM forums.
Thanks for your help in advance,
