Thread: XP help......

Ok people, how the devil am I suppose to get xp in this profession now? I healed a guy running around almost dead and got zip....nothin, but then there are times I get some xp....what are the rules now for this? It's going to take me forever to get Master at the rate I am makin xp thanks!

The only time XP is given to medical professions is when they heal in combat. Such as soloing and healing yourself while fighting(slow XP) or healing your party members in combatwhile grouping. Last I heard, the offensive attacks, like Infect are not giving out combat medic XP. In my opinion it should, it's just like scout trapping in a sense. Healing someone when that person is not in combat gives you nothing.

Yeah...I've been shocked at how difficult the XP for CM is in its current iteration. It's only for "positive" actions..."negative" actions, such as, um...100% of what we do to critters...don't count toward our XP. Which is odd given that when I bonk people with my sword I get sword XP. I'm sure...SURE...that this will get fixed at some point. I hope...

Not to mention that fact that if you do make the mistake of healing someone (and heaven forbid it's an area heal), every mob within 100m will instantly aggro on you and turn you into swiss cheese. This has GOT to be fixed IMO if doc or combat medic are ever going to be usefull.

No wonder I am getting the snot kicked outta me, I used the spray then got jumped by every damn critter around me......

As a TK, I dont mind the Area Taunt...eh I mean Bacta Spray. It keeps the mobs away from my group and focused on me, and that's not a problem for TK's.

As for xp, just group up with 8 players on Dant and hunt Pickets/Bols. Stand back and heal them as they take damage. I can get 1 million xp in about 60-90 mins doing this.

If the group is doing their job correctly, there should only ever be 1 to 3 mobs agro'ing the group, so bacta spray agro should not be an issue. Remember, that mobs will agro the person doing the most damage or healing the most damage.....so as long as someone else does more damage than you can heal with bacta spray, you will not get agro'ed. For this reason...try to have a rifleman or swordsman in the group (great damage dealers). Generally, it's better not to use enhancers with Bacta Spray and the increased healing will get more mobs to agro you.

Oh and one last thing,....it helps if everyone in the group is On Leave, so you can be sure that you can heal them all.

Is the medical XP just tied to one use like with weapons xp? In other words do I get the full xp off the MOB if I heal one group member and that is all I do, regardless of how powerful my bactas are? I havent really paid too much attention to my med xp other than it occasionally getting split with my CH xp.

If a mob gives 5000 xp, and you spend half the time attacking and half the time healing, you will get 2500 weapons xp and 2500 medical xp. The XP is split between Weapons & Healing, depending on how much you do of each.

You heal more than you attack, you get a higher percentage of medical xp and vice versa.
