Combat Medic Archive

I was SF last night in a PVP battle, and each time a teammate got incapped I wasn't able to bacta toss/spray/shot them and got "-Invalid Target-" until they got up from incap then I was able to heal.

Is this a bug or intended?

Actually I think this is my fault. Honestly. Back in the day I was notorious for tossing AE poisons on corpses or incapped players. I would use them to bounce an AE around corners etc. They probably have it coded against all healing actions which even offensive medicine falls under. I suspect this is the behavior they are trying to prevent with this feature. Sorry LOL

This stopped being a problem with the CU.

A patch or two after the release of the CU they "removed the ability for certain medical actions to be performed on incappacitated players" which apparently meant all medical actions. However, I suspect its a bug of some sort, and I can't imagine the reasoning behind removing healing incappacitated players.

This is already in the "CM issues" thread, although this certainly isn't any indication that anything will be done.

I also cant heal incapped players, but I can target them and even MOB corpses and use bacta spray to heal everyone except the incapped players. This is probably a bug, but it was working pretty consistently on Rori last night.

Seems to be fixed now. In the Avatar Platform last night, I seemed able to heal incaps - although it was hard to be sure, in all the chaos.

Same here couldn't heal an incapped on the Ryatt Trail and wound up losing him as he got smacked again as he was getting up and before my heal hit him.

The only profession that can heal incaped players is Jedi which I think is stupid. Doctors and Combat Medics are trained to heal people, Jedi are not. I think Doctors and Combat Medics should heal incaped players and Jedi shouldn't. And how come jedi can heal like 1,000 to 2,000 damage in one heal which it takes Doctors and Combat Medics like 10 heals to get that much. Stupid in my opinion. Doctors/Combat Medics are trained in the area of healing, Jedi are trained in the area of fighting (Not healing).
