Thread: New CM on the block
Hi all,
I just recently got novice CM and after reading some posts on the boards an having a bit of trouble on a couple things.
Are the ranged stims, poisons and disease even worth the effort of crafting during the first 2-3 levels of CM or should I wait and till closer to master?
I by no means want to play an uber character, but I am a carbineer so I am hoping to use CM when those who think I am not a threat come to play. So, any tips or pointers any of you have would be greatly appreciated. ![]()
Thanks...
You'll want to start the crafting tree as soon as possible. This goes along with Combat Medic Support, which will allow you to use the higher level stims.
The ranged stims are definitly worth it in the long run. It will save you time. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time with anything less than 'C' level meds. Keep cranking out regular stimpack C's and D's that you got from your Medic crafting line.
I've not used poisons yet, but from what I've heard anything less than 'C' level is pretty useless.
So the answer to your question is varied. You only need the second level of crafting for ranged stimpack-C's. For poisons and disease you may want to wait until Master Crafting (for poisons) or Master CM (for disease).
I'm still working on Master CM, but here's what I did:
1) Ground through the crafting tree as quickly as I could possible stand (don't let it ruin the game for you! grinding is extrememly boring)
2) I'll master CM Support first (I'm 1/2 way to Master)
3) From there I'll probably work on the other two trees together.
Hope this helps you out.

Ya basicly what Mtik said, I also got the crafting grind out of the way, this made the other lines 10x faster to level.
Basicly the better stims you can craft, the more you heal, the more you heal the faster xp you get.
btw, AE stims are wonderfull for leveling CM, sitting in populated catins's (10) or so entertainers burning through action ... the levels fly by.
well you also have another new guy hanging around the boards now ![]()
just gave up master pikeman last night and am already 0/0/1/1 in combat medic. so far this looks like a fairly fun and different profession and am looking foreward to mastering it.
and thanks for the advice arcX, i always wondered why i saw CM's in cantinas useing ranged stims, now its time to get a craftin and make some AE stims![]()
