you do realise that 75% of the life of a combat medic is spent running away?

that is after you calculated that you only spend 5% of the time in pvp and the other 95% crafting and looking for the resources and getting the money to afford them.

First off let me say that im a Heavy PvPer. Played on a PvP server in every MMORPG (ac1,ac2,daoc) So im looking for a class that isnt too bad in PvE and PvP(not a FOTM)
I may become a combat medic. I was going to be a BH but now seeing as half the world is a BH now.. I have been turned off. The AoE DoTs caught my eye. In DAOC i played a Cabalist who could stack dots and AoE dot. Can someone please explain How Combat Medics are good, What is Disease and Poison? If I started my character as a Markmanship (when i was going to become a BH)..if the attributes different since i didnt start as a Medic (do i have less/more health/action.etc..)
What other Profession should i take up along with Combat medic?

Thanks.

As a combat medic you should realize a few things before you actuly start working on your character

- takes a lot of skill points to be a combat medic 160 some I believe.

- our poisons and diseases have far less range than guns

- poisons and diseases get resisted way to often for the amount of resources needed

- poisons do poor damage over time as compared to eye shot and bleeds (one tick every 8 seconds).

- our poisons do not stack like bleed shots 1 and 2

- diseases are creeping wounds (one tick every 15 seconds)

- we are a crafting class dependent on well made meds that cost a fortune to get

-we arn't effective untill you can make C poisons and diseases (master lvl)

- many of our schematics are bugged (adv resilance component doesn't load, 13 factory made bio controlers for ranged stim E's, and over 800 med use required for AOE packs)

Despit all the draw backs of being a combat medic it's still a good profession IMO but we're majorly out classed by almost every other combat oriented profession. Possable secondary professions would be one of the elite marksman classes. Our name has combat yet we have no combat oriented skills besides warning shot and suppression fire. And finaly, every other combat class is crying for the devs to nerf us even more than we already are so brace yourself, those nerf sticks come in fast and unexpected.
