Thread: pistoleer or rifleman with CM
I was going to go Pistolleer, but I think Rifleman with area mind poison would be more powerfull for pvp
What do you think about that. Doing 2 tipe of mind domage may be good for pvp
A drawback to that might be that rifle specials use a good deal of mind, which is also used in heals and poisons/diseases. I guess you could always just migrate most stats to mind, but remember that there isn't a stim for mind damage.
At least with pistoleer, if you're mind is toasted so that you can't heal, you can still use specials to keep your opponent at bay or at least stand a chance at surviving.
Just a thought.
Rifle seems like the perfect match, but it's not. As stated above the good specials drain your mind pool whereas pistol mostly hits the action.
Also riflemen need to be prone to increase accuracy and often need to be at max range and you can't heal prone and can't heal pets at 64m unless you are a master.
Rifle pays a huge melee damage penalty of 2.5x so even if your groups are well trained to protect you it will only take a hit or two from a big mob to take you down.
Rifle is also very very slow until master, so your healing will have to wait up to 9 seconds even after you are a Master CM.
Pistol is fast, has no accuracy penalties at all at any range (may be a bug), has a low low HAM cost on most specials and is all around fun. Pistoleer as a class is completly broken atm though so, I wouldn't push leveling it very much, you will end up using the two bleeds and chest shot 2 all the time, and in pvp Fan shot.

if you do decide to go rifleman...get a spraystick..preferably a mastercrafted one...think the ones madar makes on tarq are 50-160, 2sec so if you can get one of these the speed issue is negated
as to the mind cost..get some powerups that reduce mind cost...this is more costly than going pistol...but the double hit of mindshot adn mind poison may be worth it.
in the end tho..you're still drawing your weapons skills from the same pool as your healing...so i hope your a mon cal or zabrak...otherwise you can have some severe drain probs there
