Something that provides protection, yet does not seriously hinder the mind

If you don't PvP or PvE use chitin. It is cheap and the kinetic can go over 40% with good bones and an armorsmith with Tech IV. Also it has ALOT less encumbrance than the higher level armors.

If you do PvP or PvE then you may want to get padded or composite or one of the faction armors.

On a side note, i never wear a helmet, as it reduces your mind substats more than rest of armor pieces combined. Just pray you don't run into a rifle man or you are dead.

For pvp I use a full set of bone armor with a mk3 shield generator. For pve I use the marine armor minus the helm (it's gotta be the funniest thing I ever seen )

Is the shield generator something that can just be equipped, or does it need to be installed in the armor somehow? I saw some for sale but have never had any experience with one.

shield gens are clothing. just equip them. they have their own slot methinks.

if you PvP, you are just not smart if you use faction armor... the stupid lack of Heat or Acid leaves you as fodder for any weapon class. its absoloutely worthless armor IMO. composite is the way to go. if you are alone, wear the hat since a BH will tool you otherwise. if you are grouped, dont.

Is that bone armor or advanced bone armor?
