Thread: Will this work? :)
Well I decided to "dabble" in CM. I'm currently a Master Doc, Maxed pistol, and ranged, and picked up novice CM.
This is what I'm thinking and was wondering if this might be any good or even worth it. ![]()
A friend I play with is planning on mastering CM, I don't have the points left, and have some plans for the rest of my points. What I was thinning of doing in the CM tree was just maxing the combat support tree, so I have +75 combat med usage. So here are some of my questions.
1) What will this limit my usage to? I know I can use up through Ranged Stim Cs so far.
2) I'm mainly interested in a greater range of healing then with normal doc/medic stims. But I know I'll lose some range but not taking other skills.
3) I'm not primarily going to focus on poisons, but will be able to use good ones now and then with this setup?
Since I'm a Master Doc, I'm planning on making all the subcomponents, as I get Doc experiment points on them, and then my friend will make schematics for me to run off in the factory. Win win for both of us.
Just curious what you guys think of this setup.
Also you won't be able to use any diseases until you get the secondbox in healing distance.
However, you can still use areastims with decent results. If you think about it, even a base heal of 430 (about average for my Bs) is a huge help when grouping.
Sure, there may be drawbacks, but I consider wasting 43 skill points on boxes that you may not use a pretty big drawback.
Thanks for the responces...
Yes I know I'm limited myself, and my range will suck, but hey I'm doctor my range already sucks. ![]()
I'm mainly trying to increase my usefullness during combat.
I don't see the crafting as that big a deal, I already turn out regular stim Bs by the crate, so I just need the extra metal, and I can crank out ranged sims but the crate, not sure the requirments for area stims, but I'm sure their pretty close too. I can make much better subcomponets then my friend can, so I only see this as a win/win situation for both of us
I only have 20ish points, and thought this would be a good use for them. 6+14 for that branch. I suppose I could get multiple tier 1 branch, but this just seemed the most effective use of my points.
I am 2-0-2-3 Combat Medic. Using combinations of Stim D, Ranged Stim C, and Area heals A (all using adv components) My exp groups got nothing but praise for my usefulness.
When I am duellingI only rely on my carbineer skills and never used poison on another player so not sure my effectiveness there. Poison is not my style anyways. But I did test out all my poisons and disease and the poisons really suck atmy level (only had one adv component in the recipe forget which). The disease was useful for exping hehe; it's too bad when I got my ranged healing tier (apply disease)I ran out of skill points so exp means nothing.
I wanted to be a master combat medic when I started but it's too limiting since Im in the elite carbineer tree and low level chef. I'm very happy with my current set up tho.
In my opinion once you are able to use ranged stim c. you are a viable main healer in any exp group. For Huge end game stuff when everyone is buffed 3x normal stats or something then my set up may not be enuff.
You will heal like a medic with pharm 4. Your range will stink. Your poisons will only hit at 110% of listed damage and you will not be able to use AE poison Cs. I hope you have a steady supplier for ranged stims and poisons as well, because you won't be able to craft any on your own.
