Thread: Doc & CM = No Survey skill...

I am tired to trying to bug people for my resources... I like doing my own stuff without bothering anyone. but right now Being a Master Combat medic and a Master Carbineer leaves me with no points left for Novice Artisan... no Survey skill..


I think in the Elite profession Doc or CM at novice should get Survey skill. EVERY other class that requires Large amount of resources is WITHIN the artisan tree thus get Survey Skill. but not Doctor or CM.


Its been a Week now that i've tried to get help for resources and its just not happenning. I dont mind going to harvest them myself with harvesters and EARN them.. but I CAN't without any survey skills.. and those with Survey skills do no care to share or spend the time...


Are we getting Survey Ability in the next patch?

I'm a Healer not a miner....


Well Merchant profession is right in the Artisan tree and doesn't require that much resources yet it is in there... and well Chefs too are in there to a certain extend maybe those belong there and should relay on artisan for their resources.


I would Gladly take Novice Artisan for the Survey Ability but I can't I am a Master Carbineer and a Master Combat medic and I have 4 points left... Novice Artisan is 15 Skill points. that means I have to give up ATLEAST HALF of Master Carbineer or Master Combat Medic. sucks :[


and btw there is no such thing as Miners.. maybe they should make it an Elite Profession.


Just want to be able to get my own resources spots and stop bothering everyone for either WPs or resources.

you also cant harvest meat. do you want that also?


also master doc/cm has 18 points left over so you can take artisian to survey then drop it for scout to harvest its abit annoying but it works

Doubt we'll get one and imho I think that's fair. We should rely on artisans for our resources. It is fair game balance. This is just like BHs asking for basic medical skills. If you want the survey skills just go buy them. You are a healer not a miner.

It's harsh, simple as that. You can pick up a crates of stims from vendors. It's not a problem for those that don't have any medical crafting skill.


I'm almost at the point where I need to lose novice scout or novice artisan in order to master CM and Carbineer. I've got a fair few friends online but still feel bad about having to ask them to come with me to Yavin to go looking for Fiberplast or can they survey and sample for Fungi.


The stuff we need is too rare to appear on the bazaar. Sampling and harvesting is a must if you want to be self sufficient, but that's 30 points you need to put in your 2nd skill. If it was just a token skill say 16m survey and 1/2 amount of organics from harvesting.


We can medical forage - (gee I use that soooo often !!) - why can't we Medical Survey ? We are used to healing wounds but we can't cut meat from a corpse ?

Hear, hear! I can be a galaxy-renowned doctor or combat medic, I can buff, heal, cure and patch up wounds onat least 6 sentient species, not to mention countless animals, yet I cannot be trusted with lopping off a bit of meat from a corpse of the same animal that I can stitch bits of meat back together on!


Said the Master surgeon to the apprentice: "just keep the sharp end pointing towards the victim patient, and proceed with caution..."

And you expect them to kill things that you want to harvester with....?

Even without surveying, you can run harvesters. Invest in a few good harvesters for the main resources you will need. Then, get a few friends to watch for resources to spawn. When one spawns that you want, hire someone to find you a good vein of it, t hen drop your harvesters.

Easiest solution is to join a Player Association ( a good one mind you). If they have the right attitude they will be willing to help out there allies and members. Ask one of your "miner" buddies to search for good veins of resources and then plop down some harvesters. If they are in your PA you probably wouldn't have to pay them! However a little tip never hurtdid it! Also novice scout is alot more important than novice artisan if you ask me. You can drop harvesters to mine minerals, you can't do anything but buy yourmeat types.



Once I enjoyed this game. Now I find myself coming back to it even though it is not what it once was. True massocist behavior.
