Get ready for a story!

Today I was speedin' along lovely dantooine, when I happened upon a player city containing a factionHQ. I was a bit low on faction points, so I decided it was time to shoot some storm troopers. Now, this isnt my galaxy forum, so I won't drop names or cities or any of that rubbish, but after being chased by a very PO'ed Pikeman yelling"yur dead hoe, so dont even run," I decided it was time to drop some of my new mind poison/disease. Needless to say, in just asnappy burst runs timehewas down fromthat handy dandycombo of wound + damage commandos always have a feild day with. A death blow, and I went back to shootin' storm troopers. He came back, of course, for vengance. Now, running 1000 m with an at-st and an insult hurling melee bound person followingme, I decided to take him down with (you guessed it) disease + poison! After a disease, I guess he decided he'd had enough.

Thats when the tells started.

Soon I was bombarded with a long conversation about how I am being reported by this fellow, and If I return, his entire guild will do the same. Wanting to be the better man, I explaned that using poison and disease are a known game mechanic, designed to do what it does. After a LONG debate, it was time for mr. disatisfied to go on my ignore list.

Heres the thing. It's not really my job to edjucate those who use tefs on my how poison and disese work; much less so if they are not going to beleive me. In addition, I am going to be miffed if my account is revoked by this fellow and his buddies.

Honestly, I don't expect any good to come out of this thread. I'm not going to start using only one of the two things that make my prof of choise great. However, there can be no doubt that this issue does not concern all combat meds, as the threat of another nerf looms ever near. Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm not so sure this would come as a nerf to us exactly. Commandos do the same thing with flamethrowers, if we are exploiting, so are they. It IS a game mechanic certainly, however it may be a broken one.

Next time I suggest practicing this maneuver:

/laugh ... breathe /laugh

Its hardly worth your breath to explain game mechanics to whiners, and if he's playing a meleer in a game dominated by ranged damage then he really should of had a hard lesson by now.

The fact that poison + disease will incap (actually disease with any pre-existing damage - even damage that is self-inflicted by special use) is probably not the behavior.

I would agree that as long as commando flame dot behaves the same way, there is no reason for restraint in using the combo.
