Thread: why should a cm beat a master doctor?

just curious. i had my first run in with a cm today while overt. please explain whyyou think a combat medic with some lamepoison should own a master doctor. with only the poison.

As a master doc you should be able to negate poison without any trouble. As a CM/Doc I have no trouble removing another CM's poisions. I just have no other combat skills to take him down with. So depending on what your other profession is and cant say why you lost. Also you didn't mention what ohter profession the CM was. If he was a rifleman as well as a CM he can target the mind pool with fercious accuracy which in my opinion is the real problem. An unhealable HAM pool.

well, if it was CM with NO other skills VS a doc with NO other skills shouldtn the CM win over time because he is the only one of the pair that can do damage. Depends on other profesion, your skill, and how rich you are

i guess i should just keep halva and heal cure disease/poison hot keyed. (with my attacks). i shoulda had the guy, cause i had vercupti and was buffed, of course. next time he won't catch a sucker. it just made me sooooooooo mad. it was just my first run in. so that would make me a noob.. plus i don't pvp much.

This would be a standstill. The CM can toss poisons and diseases...but the doc can cure them before they tick. Except for the BUG where a second application ticks on the first timer...

A CM CAN beat a doc. Any doc, doesn't matter how great your cures are. There is a simple truth to this brand of warfare.
A CM for the most part can pretty much paralyze a doc to the point where all they can really do is heal themselves. They might get 1 maybe 2 shots in between, but you will be mostly healing poisons.
If you as a doc slip up even once, just once... you lose 600 mind... that's a huge chunk if your having such a battle where neither opponent is doing very well with they're other combat profession if they are even getting much use out of it.
The simple reason is, if a CM misses a few seconds on a poison application nothing is really lost, if a doc misses a second he loses chunks of mind.
That second application on the first timer tick bug is definately WRONG!. That is more likely to kill you, than a CM simply hoping you slip.

What word in "COMBAT Medic" do you not understand? I mean... put into combat a COMBAT Medic versus a doctor... in COMBAT, why shouldn't a COMBAT Medic not 0wn a doctor? I mean, other than the fact they were made for COMBAT.
I mean, to think Combat Medics and Doctors were supose to be supportive professions... never intended to become fighters of any sort. But the fact remains that COMBAT Medics have abilities to deal damage in some sort... so why shouldn't they own a Doctor?

Because doctors are the only defense against cms.

So you are saying as a Doctor you could not keep up with just the CM tossing poisons and at no point did you use your Master Swordsman skills to kill the CM? Even though I highly doubt the CM didn't use his secondary profession skills.

CMs deals dmg, Doc doesn't. There are pros and cons to both professions. Nobody should have to explain anything, just read the stickies on each forum to see the pros and cons.
I find it hard to believe a cm can kill anybody using cm skills alone. There used to be a bug, but I thought that was long ago fixed. It's why some CMs take up a ranged weapon skill.
