after over a year i am considering changing my alts template. I am all about being a master in at least one profession. Here is my question...

What is the bestpvp template i can have with Master Combat Medic?

I would really like to stay away from rifle asI (Arguss) have been one & will remain one forever.

Thanks for your opinions in advance

this is not covered in the "what is your template" ... come on guys what do ya think? Master Carbineer? 444Fencer? Master Doc? this charachter would be used primarily for raids and battles outside starports

Carbineer gives you area state laying abilities, area knockdown, and a single pool target which is Action based. Defenses are only so so but the HAM costs are horrendous. In PvE your abilities aren't that great since knockdown and dizzy dont stack vs. anything NON humanoid although it works great vs. Janta's and Mokks (dont even bother with NS their defenses are too high). You get an AP2 energy weapon and various others that are energy based but only one AP1 acid based carbine (two if you count the Nym slugthrower) and a AP0 heat based carbine. In PvP the dizzy/KD combo is KING on the battlefield and if no DoT's are involved then a fight degenerates onto who gets the first KD/dizzy. The ability to spam states is a big help especially when the other professions are fighting defense stackers (stun state slashes their defenses). Sadly though this in not a 1 vs. 1 profession as you dont have a stun damage weapon nor a MIND pool attacking special thus classifying it as a group support only profession.

Fencer gives you great defenses and a stun damage weapon, a combo attack, health bleed, intimidate, and various attacks that apply blind states. In PvE your abillities vs. low-medium npc's are pretty good since there are many things vulnerable to stun damage and dont have any armor rating. Laying a blind state makes it so that its even harder to hit you with your CoB running. The downside...anyone with a psg cuts your damage down dramatically. Add in some stun armor and you're hitting them with love taps since you cant do any damage even with an acklay enhanced stun baton. You're then forced to use either your gaff (AP0 so an automatic 50% reduction) or your gimped vibroblade which does very little damage.

I'll give it to you straight up. In PvP there is no other profession that can compliment a Combat Medic like rifleman. If we had the skillpoints to fully master a melee profession I'd change that statement but right now a partial melee cant compete against a master melee. Evenagainst an opponent with astun layered helmet you still do some decent damage with a Jawa although your other rifles will do much more. You can try and poison the pools that other professions attack like Health or Action but those are mitigated by buffs and stimpacks way too easy. MIND is currently unhealable (although they are talking about making it healable) therefore the weakness in any PvP template. Stun damage is the big boogieman of damage types although the Jawa Ion rifle is the only AP1 stun damage weapon out there. Too many noobs intimidated by stun weapons and make up some great stories about them but once you understand it and how it works there's a way around it.

If you dont want to go rifleman then go carbineer. Not everyone remembers to eat thakatillo before a fight so your KD/dizzy will help keep them down while the poison goes to work on their MIND pool. Area KD/dizzy will also help in large scale fights although laying states would be more important.

I know you said you wanted to keep master cm... just throwing this out to you. If you drop down to CM4004, you can master a melee profession and have enough left over for the semi-useful doc2000 (poison cure A's). This is just a thought... Hope it helps.

I am currently giving master fencer/cm4004/doc2000 a try myself. Send me an ingame tell if u want to know how it's working.
