Thread: Thinking of going CM, need some advise from experienced CMs
Hello folks.
At this time I am a Master Creature Handler, Master Scout, 4,4,4,0 in Ranger, and 1,0,0,1 in Rifleman.
I would really like to pick up the CM prof, but unsure about which way to go about it.
I would like to keep my MCH, as I love my pets, and I at first thought it would be cool to stand back with no weapon and be able to heal the group and my pets from afar. After doing the calculations, I would be able to saty a MCH, but only be able to go 4,4,0,0 in CM. My first question is If I went Range and Speed and 0,0 in the other two, and stayed MCH, would I be viable in PvE and PvP? Or would I need to go different branches, or not go it at all?
My second scenario I thought about possibly doing would be going MCM, and Master Rifleman. Would this be a viable alternative? If I am a MCM, do I need any weapon skill? As an MCM, would I be a badass just as that?
Any and all input that can be given would be appriciated, whether negative or positive.
Thank you all
well with 4/4/4/0 You wont be able to use crap.
Go 4/4/0/4, You can use Good Area Stims, and good Single target poisons. You just send your pet in. Area Health Poison B, Health Poison C and let your pet take em down with ease
I can only go 2 lines if I do MCH MCM though, so it would only be 2 branches to 4, 2 branches at 0
That is why I am thinking of the MCM Master Rifleman
I agree go 4004 because you can hit poisons from a pretty good distance, whilekeeping yourself outta the fray and letting your pets do their job.

How about the idea of going MCM, Master Rifleman?
Out of those two, what do you think the better combo would be?
I would like to be viable for PvE and PvP both, if I can ![]()
My last cm i was going for rifleman/cm and there just wasnt enough mind to go around to heal in a large group and headshot etc. I like either carbineer/cm or pistoleer/cm because they use your other stat pools. I am currently going pistol because pistols are faster which allows you to throw stims faster if in combat and because carbineer is so broke right now.

Just understand that there are certain roles CMs are good at, and certain roles that we are bad at. SoloPVP even with good weapon skills you are at a disadvantage to the pure combat templates, as you should be. In group PVP (which I never see these days) a CM really shines however witht he ability to wipe the stat pools from groups of opponents and heal faraway comrades. And mind heal is brutal to use but its an ability that makes the CM unique.
Understand that your PVE skills will depend almost entirely on whatever combat skills you have, as your poisons and diseases are virtually worthless against critters. The best they are for is augmenting the combat xp and healingxp you get from fights (poison damage = combat xp and you get healing xp for applying it successfully). Your best contribution pve is ranged healing, and a lot of the best stims you will need to be master for. Its kind of a known thing that CM is not a good dabbling class.
Also understand that being a CM can be financially crippling if you don't get into the whole resource harvesting/crafting game. Our best supplies require hard to find components and you will find that CM vendors are very difficult to find and the majority of master CMs I talk to either make their own stuff or have a friend (ie someone not selling to the public) they score from. Good luck man, I might recommend spending your skill points elsewhere for what you are trying to accomplish..
At one time I was 4004 combat medic and master creature handler. Don't do it! Don't do combat medic at all. I was almost a master at one point and I dropped all the crafting boxes so I could master ch. This class was nerfed to **edit**. The devs have made it quite clear that in order to be l33t you must be a commando or bounty hunter. You could be a master ch with 0034 bounty hunterif you drop novice medic or a master ch with flame 4 in commando with novice medic. Combat medic poison and disease damage sucks compared to LLC's or flamethrowers. Poison doesn't even incapp, while flamethrower dots incapp. This class is so broken because of the recent nerf it is on par with pikeman and carbineer in my opinion.
