In what sense do you mean?

In PvP you get to max out your range and if you choose to use that nasty stuff called havla you can hit or come close to the one second cap on your poison throws.

In PvE you get your max range and max speed which is going to be needed for high level content like the DWB or corvette. Possibly the Geonesian caves but then again I can solo my way downto the acklaywith just a dxr-6b. In the DWB or corvette there'll be situations where you'll need to spam Area C's while staying way in the back. These are the only locations where this has ever been necessary for me or I'm guessing any other competent fighter. Poisons in most low-high level content are pretty much worthless due to their low damage and potential to bring the entire cave/ship/lair chasing after you.

Then theirs the ability to have a little title floating above your head saying "Master Combat Medic"...and people cower in fear

I would have to say yes, yes it is, especially if you are going to PvP.

Man get you some Havla Food and toss those bad boys on a group of 10+ people at 1 toss per second and make sure you stack Poison A,B,and C and same for disease. Watch them : A) all flop around on the ground incapped as you burst run away or B) Sit around in a state of panic watching their mind tick away wondering if they should heal or attack. or C) Both A and B

Dang... can't believe I just wrote that..now I see why people are pissed .....lol. Blame the devs not me? I just toss da nasty stuff

If you are serious about being a CM, you need to master. CM is a very dabbling-unfriendly profession, in that much of its power really arrives when you hit master. Poison and Disease Cs are the ones eveyrone compains about; no one but CMs know how ineffectual in comparison As and Bs are, because we're the only ones who get told that the target resists the disease or poison.

I disagree, SioBabble. The more I think about combat medics, the more dabble friendly they seem to me. Not including area poison C's and area disease C's, I would estimate a 4004 combat medicto beabout 70% as effective as a master combat medic. Contrast this with getting two skill trees of a fighting profession as compared to mastering it.

Granted in PvP, this 70% becomes something like a 40% or less (because area poison C's, the staples of PvP,take a huge hit in effectiveness). But combat medics are not nearly as dabble unfriendly as many think.

Jfang I used to be able to disagree with your train of thought but now with the recent changes I would have to agree a non-Master CM can be almost as effective as a Master. Range means nothing now, and son neither will speed or effectiveness. The way things are going, they are going to make our profession even more dabble friendly.

Okay, Gnuut, you are correct. I am making the assumption that others do not exploit the range bug, and that there is an imaginary hard cap of 65m on throw range. I make this assumption because it is the sporting way to play (and I play this way myself), seeing how the devs have officially stated that65m+ is a bug they intend to fix.

If you remove this (very) false assumption, then you are right, that a 4004 CM is much less than 70% effective of a MCM.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that.

I personally just dropped Master CM ( 2 days ago ) .... cause of seeing how good a certain template works out ... still have decent posions/disease ( I never used the big/heavy damage poisons ) .... so droped some cm and picked up some Doc .. best of both worlds
