Thread: Combat medic post nerf (halva).

Well i just got back from vacation were i was thinking long and hard what template i wanted to try next.


I was all setwith Master Fencer / Doc 2000 / CM 4004 but then i heard they are nerfing halva from a buddy of mine.


How would that template do in pvp?


I dont care if i can only throw poisons every 15-25 seconds as long as there high damage ones.

Well for starters, your doc template wont cure anything since the effectiveness of your cure poisons for such a low med use will be somewhat useless. In all honesty, I would try to get a hold of a nice dot gaffi, preferably a mind fire, and drop the effect tree since your speed is uber slow even with havlat. Only drawback is not being able to use disease. At least with cm 0 0 0 4 you get the +40 TN, you can still use CM use 75 poisons, which can include aoe's if crafted properly. If stacking doesnt get nerfed as well, you could use the gaffi + a poison stack on a kd victim which would be more than enough to be effective. And you could use the extra effectiveness points to raise your med use to +80, which is where the real poison cures start.

They are not nerfing Combat Medics. They are fixing them. No more game-breaking 1-second poison/disease spamming (which was a bug--not intended by the Devs).


If your only intention was to havla-bomb people, I'd recommend you save the skill points. Become an "uber" melee stacker, or one of the billions of riflemen.

I need 4004 to make the poisons do high damage per tick dont i?


I dont want to be a defense stacker and i have always wanted to mess round with.


So if you are not a master combat medic can you still use halva to help?


The doc thing is for State cures which only come in A packs and to cure pve poisons.

Elequent post but I couldn't disagree with you more. I have that exact template and it's a awsome pvp template. I haven't lost a duel since i got it. What have to do have a Master CM make you some quality poisin cure A's. sometimes it takes a few tries to cure the poisin but it's waaaaaaaaayyyyyy better then not having the ability to cure at all. Get this template now you wont be dissapointed. Master Fencer Doc 2-0-0-0 CM 4-0-0-4

my template is close to this, but I use TK instead of fencer. My cure a's are like 350 eff - you just have to have a doc make them w/ janta blood for you

Before I mastered rifleman I had doctor 2/0/0/0. I never lost a fight against another CM and the ability to cure states made a big difference in PvP and PvE. I used 250 power cure packs and a single heal with it left me with plenty of MIND to fire off some more headshots and my brandy and muon easily stagnated the poison affecting me until the second cure shot had me regening back slowly. My opponents had a hard time living with a MIND dot on them though.


The real issue is our range. Theoretically we can throw at 64m yet no one has been able to accomplish this and post the numbers. Starting to wonder if I should drop MCM for 4/0/0/4 after all of these months and pick up TK like every other clone out there since it looks like being a master and a novice is a whole 7m difference.


I'll have to craft up some more ranged stims and test them out including the area effect portion. Dear god I hope this isn't going to affect my stims too.

One question.


Will halva work with a CM who doesnt have the speed line or is masterd in it???


It seems to me there putting a cap inplace for the speed but because i will be 4004 i wont be close to hitting the 4 second mark.

Halva is a chef food. When made properly, it drastically reduces the recovery time before you can use another stim, cure, wound pack, enhance pack, poison, or disease(basically, all medical related items).


This was a problem in that a combat medic using said food could spam poisons at one per second, overwhelming all but the most prepared and dedicated doctors. (And crossed with another presumed bug, overwhelming even that.)

I've noticed that my template is similiar to those being discussed and enjoy it but am wondering what you do with your extra points. Where are you putting those last three points? I am a Master Fencer / 4004 CM / 3000 Doc. Why are you2000 docs? Did you throw 2 points into picking up the first box somewhere in brawler or marksman? 3000Doc gives that added ability to use fireblankets by going 3000 and I didn't know where else to put the remaing points anyway. I had to get the fire blankets made to 55 med use and I have yet to use one but it's there. I only kept the novice doc for the state heals but decided to heal poisons as well.

ya doc 3000 mf and 4004 is what i would do.


Im gana wait till monday to see what other "fixes" TH has comming since he caters to the whinning jedi.

I gurantee Defense stackers are going to be next after CM

Once all the jedi are high enough that they start having to give up there defense stacking.

Been a while since I've ever had to looked at the med use since my other character is a master. But what is the med use on fire blankets? Can they be levelled down to 55? Think the average use is around 75 but dont quote me on that.
