For support I would choose Carbineer for the states.

TKA is a good, if you want to be support. When you have the ability to heal mind, and you can meditate off the wounds, you can really keep a group alive.

The few times I went to the corvette with my CM alt, I would have done a much better job if I could get my wounds away. But for regular PvP combat and regular PvE it will not be as good, since in PvP you will not get the chance to meditate off the wounds and in regular PvE there isn't the same need for mindheals. Except when going after BIG targets with small groups.

It really depends on what you want to focus on. PvP or PvE?

If you want to engage in PvP, Rifleman is the popular choice at the moment for their jawa ion rifle (stun damage) and headshots. Combined with a mind poison, and you can be pretty effective in taking out your enemy. Downside is, your very dependent on your own mind pool. Since both those professions drain the mind bar when using their specials. And the mind is the most often targeted pool in PvP.

If you prefer PvE, well, I'd suggest some other combat profession that doesn't drain the mind pool when using specials. You'll need your mind bar as healthy as you can to help stim yourself or your hunting groups. You should have enough skill points to master Carbiner or Pistoleer. Or you can dable in a melee class. At the moment, any combat profession that damages the Health or Action pool when using a special can be healed. CM's have the ability to use StimD's. Feel free to use em on yourself when needed.

Keep in mind the combat revamp while be done in a couple months. This will no doubt have some effect on the reasons I listed here and might make my suggestions invalid.
