Thread: Suggestions for improvement to the Profession from a MCM/MD

I am requesting Developers consider my proposal for Area Mind Heal with a Combat Medicine including Doctor crafted medicine components that does not involve fatigue or wounding. An Area Mind Heal Mist is breathed in by combatants and the sweet, soothing aroma will be soothing and comforting to all resulting in mind pools rising. Area Mind Cure only is also an added benefit and complements a CM.

I am also requesting Mind Heals be more consistent with Combat Medic ability. Jedi are allowed wound free heals to all primary and subordinate HAM stats. Mind healing is what sets a Combat Medic apart from Doctors since damage healing is equivalent within 6 meter range. Wound healing, curing, reviving, and enhancing are solely the resume of the Doctor and should remain so. A Combat Medic can only deliver “negative heals”, Doctor damage heals over an extended range, and single mind heals that results in significant wounding. Not to mention the fact that wounding only occurs to the maximum potential of the mind and ceases thereafter allowing Brandy, Entertainer enhancements, Muon Gold, and an assortment of food and drink to increase mind pool values and allow for unlimited mind heals.

Having a Doctor / Combat Medic on Bloodfin I find almost entirely any healing I do in combat or not is with Combat Medicines. As I mentioned, cure states, wound healing, reviving, and enhancing are a Doctor’s resume and, ultimately, only adds to the Combat Medic portion of my character. I appreciate the benefits of what a Combat Medic brings to the battlefield but find certain distinguishing abilities lacking in class but full featured in Jedi.

A Jedi’s ability to heal oneself during combat is astounding, historically (movie wise, etc.) speaking, let alone their ability to area heal others on the battlefield competing with Combat Medics. Just add significant self-enhancement / revive ability and Jedi become Doctors and Combat Medics all in one character / one profession. Whatever the reasons regarding that decision, I can only hope Combat Medics are not replaced on the battlefield by Jedi. Nonetheless, seems a bit of historical rewrite is taking place by the Developers giving Jedi far more ability than they deserve. I think the Episode 2 Geonosian battle would have proceeded much differently if those Jedi had what SWG Jedi do now in ability.

I hope Developers begin revamping the CM profession to include more usability and functionality. Combat medicine mitigation spice is on the way, great but is not a real response to the lack CMs have in their abilities. Area mind heals, area mind curing only, and an assortment of additional abilities to make this profession what it should be is a definite step in the right direction.

In essence if I read this correctly you want to give CM's the ability to give life and death. All of this in one profession. You would make pvp dependent on one particular profession. It is a nice thought if you like CM, but this is not very appealing to anyone else who has to have his life dependant on the CM.

A better solution is still to tone down the poisons and give CM's more sp to work with. The heart of the problem is the power of these poisons, the duration, and lack of resists to them. Your answer simply says keep the overpowering effect but at the same time allow the person who is overpowering to help offeset this overpowering poison. Not very appealing at all.

Very simple.

Make mind pool healable with the same types of stims used for Health and Action pools.

Your group gets poisoned? Well, have a Doc cure it, or have a CM in your group lob out area stims to heal the damage caused by the poison (these days, there is an abundance of CMs playing around and almost all raiding groups have them). This now eliminates the FOTM most popular with damaging the unhealable mind pools in a large group while allowing the other combat professions an equal chance of damaging and taking out the opposition by targeting any of the three principal HAM bars. Makes PvP last longer. Kills all the nerf cries to the CM and Rifleman professions and any other profession that can attack the mind pool. Doesn't drastically change one or two professions. Allows the CM to be more than the suicidal poison throwing shock trooper and allows them to use their ranged stims more often.

But, I believe the Dev's have already seen the light of day of this proposal and I wouldn't be surprised to see the mind pool more easily healable once the combat revamp comes along.

I dont think you read my above post. The FOTM would continue to be CM because of the ability to give life and death. Again you are simply giving all the control into 1 profession. Its not appealing to anyone but a CM. Again poisons need toned down. It is that simple.

You are talking to a MCM. I know the SP. Go read 4 simple things that would improve PVP. You would see what I think about the SP's.

Blah, I don't want that sh1t job. I wouldn't take it if it was offered to me on a silver plate. However, if they give me the ability to delete posts and ban/suspend individual on the CM forum, then I'll be more than happy to take up the CM correspondent position. It'll be a more tranquil place.

Who's to say that with the combat rebalance we won't have jsut that ability? It has already been stated that the mind pool being unhealable is going away... Either we loose the HAM as we no it or the mind gets healed just like the HA stats. If the mind is healable just like HA, we will be able to do it. If there is no longer a Mind pool to damage but we have a unhealable 'Specials Pool' then there is no issue. I think we have to wait and see what the new combat system will look like before we will get any requests like your 4 PVP requests or this one. Combat as we know it is changing. Wait and see what that means because no requests like this will even get looked at until that is completed. Who knows, you may just get what you are looking for...
