Ran some tests today on the innoculations and area cures.

The curesfunctioned just like single cures for all these tests with the addition of an area of effect. If you do not understand how cure numbers work this thread has some great test info.

As a sidenote, the doctor firing the area curesdoes nothave to target anyone for them to go off.

Innoculation tests were as follows. I threw poisons or diseases until it stuck. The target was thencured. The numbers are how many throws it took before sticking. You can see that that every so often there would be a really large number before sticking. I assume this is from the 5% critical miss factor. Remember to take that into account.

Health Poison C

Potency 130

vs.

Poison Innoculation C

Power of 219

Throws before sticking: 6, 9, 5, 3 ,12

5 out of 35 Poisons thrown. 14% hit ratio.

************************************************

Spider Venom Mind Poison C

Potency 130

vs.

Poison Innoculation B

Power 219

Throws before sticking: 5, 3, 2, 1, 2

5 out of 14 Poisons thrown. 35% hit ratio.

************************************************

Focus Area Disease C

Potency 123

vs.

Disease Innoculation B

Power 219

Throws before sticking: 1, 2, 1, 2, 4

5 out of 10 Diseases thrown. 50% hit ratio.

***********************************************

Health Disease C

Potency 125

vs.

Disease Innoculation B

Power 219

Throws before sticking: 5, 1, 11, 4, 1

5 out of 22 Diseases thrown. 22% hit ratio.

***********************************************

Potency never mattered before when crafting combat meds. I have some resilience compounds in the factory experimented for maximum potency instead of duration. More test results to follow.

Hey

I tested out a mind single C with potency 202 against an innoculation B strength 225 and it averaged 1 hit out of 5. 20% hit rate with a mind use of 101 each time, I thought I was done for.

Then later in the session I was outside Coronet with buddies attacking some Dark Jedi Knights. I'm not sure if they were innoculated at all, but I was hitting pretty much at normal rates. Plus or minus a few resists. This was with an Area Mind C with potency 198, strength 550 odd, and a Mind Single C with potency 137 and strength 600 something.

I guess the determining factor will be how easy it is to get an innoculation in your galaxy/city of choice. And considering that innoculations last for about 30 minutes... perhaps things aren't too bad after all.

Still, I can see an increase already in the cost of Bespin Port (increases experimentation amazings successes) Janta Blood, Spider Venom, Rancor Bile and anything else that can help in getting the potency up without sacrificing too much effectiveness.

That's enough from me

Good points, btw anyone on other servers notice the drop off in janta blood? Since the 9.3 hit it seems to have dried up on chilastra, my townmates run jantas fairly non-stop and usually keep me well supplied. But we haven't gotten any since the pub hit, and when 10-12 ppl a day on average run 10-15 missions......kinda strange.

So I can see it going up in price, haven't tried rancors as I have 100 or so biles stockpiled, but I agree it should get more expensive.

Did another test run using the following poison.

Health Poison C

Potency 212

vs.

Poison Innoculation B

Power of 219

Throws before sticking: 3, 2, 4, 3, 3

5 out of 15 Poisons thrown. 33% hit ratio.

****************************************************

The downside to high potency for us is of course the drop in effectiveness. I hope this fabled 9.4 patchreally does something with the numbers. We still are falling to mind damage. Only now it's from Rifleman. I hope there is some logic to this in the future. Paying off one credit card with another does not get you out of debt.
