Thread: Possible CM weapon?

I must first admit that over the past few months, I've dreaded everything and anything about CM's and their role in PVP. However,beforehand I always felt you had been shafted by the doctor profession, especially considering CM take more SP than doc. They had the opportunity to make more money than you, BUFFS (nuff said), healing states (nuff said) and than can cure poison/disease butCMs can't (will this ever change?).Also I have played bothCM and Doc soI have walked a few yards in your shoes (maybe not a mile but a few yards.)


Nevertheless with the recent changes I see the CM profession, possibly heading to the direction of its past. Now I dont read these CM forums often but I recently saw this Stars Wars weapon on a site and thought about the possiblities that it could mean for the CM profession in SWG.


The weapon is the Dart Shooter. If u look at the range of the weapons it is stated at being primarily a point-blank range weapon. One of the ideas that occurred to me is that this weapon could possibly add to accuracy and thus negate some of the resists to poison when used at point-blank range. Therefore the closer the CM, the greater chance they would make a successful hit. Also this would put CMs in danger of being thrashed by melee as well.


I don't know if this idea has any merit to u guys or if u have brought up these ideas (CM weapon or greater accuracy in melee range) as I dont read your forums. Just something I thought I might bring up. Now back to the ranger forums for hopes of getting **edit** we were promised in August 2003 by Holocron.

This is an interesting idea. We could 'load' the dart gun with oursingles and area poisonsto keep the crafting potion of the game the same and this could give bonuses to range and speed. Our area attacks would be a special similiar to firing a teargas canister or more like the grenade launcher under a M16. The gun could be loaded with a slot for each type of poison and a different special would be applied for each attack. i.e. Health single would be one special, Action single would be another special, Mind area another special.


Have this gun open like a satchel to hold... maybe 10 items. They would be our poisons or diseases. You might need two guns if you want to give someone/something the full monty but in most cases a couple poisons along with a couple diseases on a target is plenty.


This would allow for greater time penalties for our area attacks and remove the stacking of similiar singles that is so often the cause of flames. Removing our ability to stack single Bs on Cs isn't that big of an issue to me if we are compensated with a new toy that gives bonuses to range or speedeach level it increases....maybe even do minor damage at impact...allowing us to actually kill without stacking disease and poisons.


One gun for novice and a new one for each level of ranged healing (effectiveness) up to the bestbonus for Master. Not only would having a weapon equiped allow us to get better missions from terminal, it would let us do the scythe quest as a MCM.


I'm sure weaponsmiths would love a new market to exploit... ah provide too. It would obviously be AP0 but I'd love to have a new toy.

I think that this could be a really nice idea. This gun can be converted in way to be used like a lightsaber. U open it and put inside the poison-diseases. Trully inever thought of it and I believe that SOE can adopt this idead [in case you dont ask for money from the developers blakk ] but i cant tell if they are willing to get it into an update cause the havent published new weapons so far and this can be a risk.... Still i vote for this idea and i hope we can get an official opinion about this
