Thread: CM & Mission Level

As part of the profession that is Combat Medic we are permitted the usage of offensive medical packs.

I was planning on doing the Scythe Quest to assist a fellow guild member who required the schematic. While speak with Hedon, NPC that gives the mission, he indicates I should return when I am much stronger.

Does or does not a Master Combat Medic receive a mission level bonus for their ability to wield offensive medical packs?

I am not saying a Master Combat Medic should receive a mission level bonus equal to that of an elite combat profession, but at least throw us a bigger bone for our offensive abilities.

I know a Master Doctor & Master Combat Medic is no means the elitist of professions, combat wise, but from experience this combination can absorb a lot of damage.

That is the way it works for both ungrouped and grouped. Equiping the weapon you have the most skill in gives the mission level bonus.

Thinking of something like this for a MCM.

It was one of those things that was pushed to the side in order to 'help fix' those issues that non-CMs had with the CM profession.

Ya know, kinda like wounds from mindheal

Dont hold me to this, but I believe mission difficulty/level bonus (while not grouped) is based entirely on the damage range of the weapon you are holding, if you are certified to use it.

As an example, I can pull some missions from the terminal in our player city on correlia, while ungrouped:
At novice commando I could get a level 35ish mission ungrouped while holding a flamethrower.
At novice commando I could get a level 20ish mission ungrouped while holding the Launcher Pistol.
CM? No idea, Ill check it in game and post back later.

What's the chance of getting a fix in that would actually be a fair balance in favor of the CM?

I've also tried the scythe quest and was told to come back. Made me want to strangle him!

Best I can do with missions is to group with my pet and my droid and I still can't reach higher than 28 or 30 (I forget which since I'm at work now) I do suggest that all CM's get the most powerful combat droid possible if only for grouping with to pull missions. It does help.

I can take on an entire lair of rancors at once and can handle 14 narglatches at one time on Naboo but can't even get simple fambaa missions.

I equip a DL44 as my weapon.

I feel your pain.

Well... at master Carbineer I am unable to pull Bolle Bols on Naboo without resorting to my Droid (CL 19) and a pet (preferably my CL 20 Bantha).

The mission terminal system is broken and usually only reflects Max damage of the equipped weapon. Hence giving Riflemen, TKAand Swordsmen an unfair advantage.

No it's deffinately the equiped weapon. I went to see the same guy when I was a Master Fencer and was told to come back when I was stronger. I almost filed a CSR ticket then I realised I didn't have a weapon in my hand... hehe. That put me as an unarmed with novice brawler as what the NPC determined as my strength. That would have been just a bit weak to take on a Krayt. Anyway equiping my batton gave me the missions.

It's definately weapon equipped and whether or not you're certed for that weapon.

Since CMs don't actually equip anything, the mission system goes off of unarmed and thus gives us the newbie missions.(or it will go off of whatever weapon you do have equipped)

I think armor is factored in as well. It is possible that skill levels matter some, but I can't recall if I get better missions at Master Carb than I got on novice Carb.

But weapons (including certs)is definitely the most defining factor.

Try a few diffrent experiments with diffrent weapons equipped.

I was wearing a full set of composite and had high damage spraystick in hand. I'll try it with a high damage Laser Rifle.
