Thread: Ok in an effort to be positive how about this idea...

It seems one of the big problems is that a person will spend a lot of time and resources preparing for pvp only to get anilated in a short period of time. A big problem is that docs cant get to people fast enough. What would happen if you gave docs the ability to rez people to there pre-death state. In other words you rez them but apply the same 3 incapp rule that is there now? In other words you effectively give people 3 tries at the combat? This would put a huge target on docs just like CM's now.
Would this be a nice fix until the infamous "Combat Rebalance" comes along? That way CM still gets to have uber status and I don't get so mad because of poisons....lol..
How would this get exploited?
Edit: Maybe one way it would is this. The doc dies clones and goes and rezzes everyone. However the price is on the 3rd incapp a decay event takes place. So the person has a choice to make. Take the decay event or clone which resets everything after the second rez.

Sounds nice to me. I think that maybe the ordinary rez could be worked into Combat Medics /I still think if Combat Medics are suppoed to be anything else than poisoners rez is one of the battlefield abilites we lack) so that Doctors have the powerfull stats-retaining rez (which must be performed by a peaced player) and combat medics get the fast "in the heat of the battle" rez which removes the buffs.
Or, combat medics could have a timed rez. You basically get five minutes to find a doctor who performs a proper rez on you. If you fail you die and get 100 wounds to each stat (and substat) plus BF. (and can then be rezed for another five minutes up to three times, by which you will be pretty much out of commission anyways)
Just a thought.

This is a major balance issue. If you discuss it on the doctor forum, I'm *sure* this topic has been discussed many times. In short though, if there is no way for you to clear the buffs of an opponent, there is no way to stop them, ever. A pair of people could go to the Rebel Outpost or Imperial Outpost and just camp it. And if a person dies, they will just get rezzed, sit for a minute, and be good to go again. Imagine a pistoleer trying to get through a set of buffs not just one time, but several times.
This *might* make sense in a PvE environment, such as in the corvette (although I think it would still be bad). However, in PvP, it would make the all-powerful buffs even more unbalanced.

Maybe I did not make myself clear. They could only do this 3 times. Similiar to the 3 incapp rule. After the 3rd death if you choose not to clone on the second one, you lose all buffs and suffer a decay event. There is no infinite camping as you suggest would take place. Sorry if I was not clear on that..
