I only want to pve and I shall never participate in pvp so what melee profession is then best?

Based on my calculations can I master CM and 1 melee profession, is that correct?

I want to become a tank/DoT character, could that type of character work?

If you want to be good PVE, CM isn't the way to go. You can't master 1 melee profession, because you need rangedsupport 4 line of marksman.

Swordsman is hands down best PVE though, and a good profession to take with it would be Doc to be able to buff yourself....

you could also just go for defense stack and do like master swords/master fencer/master brawler or something....

Master Combat Medic/Swordsman 0444 = loot whore

with some skill tapes = even better loot whore

I can easily solo NS elders in under 10 minutes with this template

I guess, just dot stacking gets a bit boring, and you can do so much better if you don't bother with CM...

Also, Master Swordsman/Master Doctor with speed cap can do some server reset runs

Like axkva....acklay....umm...stuff....

Anyway, soloing elders in 10 minutes, true, but regular master swordsmen just take 15 minutes, so not too much increase...

To each his own i guess

Thanks for the answers. Loonytic his build looks me intresting I think I shall go that way. I prefere complex gameplay so even if regular swordman is just as good do I prefere to go the CM route. I hope thatthey don't nerf the PVE aspect ofCM, I heard a lot of people asking for nerfs of CM, I hope that they do not nerf the PVE aspect of CM.

Sword also has the advantage that it targets the mind pool and I see more mind poisons for sale then action/health poisons.

ignore all the crys for nerfingCM... I'm heard it all for nearly a year now and we're not going to see any nerfing before the combat revamp

your not actually spending alot of time stacking DOTs... i use 1 disease and only have to reapply the 6 poisons once(very quickly if you use Halva)... with skill tapes you can get the same accuary and speed of a master swordsman and have the advantage of many DOTs

I was a CM for a while, it was fun for a bit in PvP, and PvE... but I got bored with it very quickly. The PvE portion of it just doesn't seem to hold up as well as PvP however. When you look at a big creature, that has over 100K Mind, 500 or so damage isn't going to hurt it that badly. Sure, it helps, but not too much IMHO. Even the best CM poisons I've seen are 1200 a tick, and that's really nifty, but it's got low charges, uses specialized components, and it seems like it would be pretty expensive to go hunting with, considering you don't even know for sure that the thing you're looking for will drop.

Hands down, I'd have to say, that if you're going strictly PvE, Swordsman/Doc is the best profession. You can buff up, drink a couple brandies, eat a canape or two, and be pretty much untouchable, except by something like a Krayt, or a Gorax. Even then, you've got a pretty good chance if you're packing Stim E's. I've watched a Swords/Doc take out a NS Elder with a Powerhammer, and a Speed sliced Scythe in under 5 minutes. Same thing with the Ackaly, and all of his buddies. I've never actually seen this combination take out a Krayt, or Gorax, but I've heard from some who claim to have.

Even if the creature can't be taken out by a swordsman/doc combination, you can grab a rifleman friend, tank the beast, heal, and pound it's brains out pretty quickly.

If you want versatility the substitute the swordsman part with TK. Their toughness, speed, damage modifiers, KD/dizzy combo, headhit 1, and defenses make it viable for both PvP and PvE.

i took tka, u can get 4/?/?/4 which is ur mind hit and meditation and have a 3rd line maxed for defence or for power, or a combo of the 2, right now i am 4/1/3/4 that way i have the kd and dizzy, and good damg...somtimes i just go 4/0/4/4 for more damg when hunting loots and trying to outdamg other groups. most important to me is the pvp/pve support role of mind healing, i have saved my friends countless times with a needed mind heal...this causes terrible mind wounds especially when u have high BF, with meditate 4 and a little time ull be good as new...other wise, have fun cloning and going to the cantina : /

I have been trying the low end of combat medic now and the damage my poisons do is simply irrelevant. I have only 3 brawler sword skills yet does my sword damage completely overwhelm my poison damage, most enemies are killed by my sword before poisons starts working. Why anyone would want to nerf the pve aspect of combat medic is beyond me, most durnies have a higher dps then my poisons.

The only advantage of combat medicIi found is that you can extremely fast get medic exp with using area heals in crowdedcantina's.

I'm thinking of going doctor now like many of you suggested but have you to be master doctor before you can buff or can you also buff before that? And is the healing power of a doctor really better then that of a mastermedic or can I better use those skill points for some defense stacking?
