Even though I almost died from the +1 change (AE poisoned an Imp base to see if they aggro'd me), when I finally did get several of them down and dead, I got over 5000 -combat xp- for a Lt Colonel and a stormtrooper.
If you are looking for some huge combat xp at this point, I imagine flinging poisons has to be among the top methods now.
