Thread: New bug with Poison
well, it's not perfect yet, but apparently they are listening to the hue and cry for more experience for Combat Medics.
Now, if only I could figure out how to get 115% combat experience on my Jedi character.
...
Oh wait, first I have to figure out how to unlock my FSS. ![]()

I don't think this is a bug. Normally when you use a weapon you get XP for it and you get some COmbat XP as well (about 10%). Well, previously we got no XP for using a poison (other than healing XP from tossing it.) Now the damage done by the poison is actually counted for purposes of get XP and FPs (aka, Kill Credit as it is named in the Patch Notes.) My guess is that since there is no other real category for the XP to go into, the XP gained from damage in the attack caused by poison is just given directly to Combat XP instead of being split off with some other XP. So my guess is that this is actually intentional and not a bug.
That does make sense, but it still leaves a lot of problems. I made 170k Combat xp in about 3 hours. To make that normally you would've needed to get 1700000 weapons xp. If this is intentional they need to drasticly revue the numbers.
Today I'll test if another person gets similar combat xp when killing the NPC you poisoned. If they do then we definately have a bug.
Well... ever since the most recent patch I've discovered an incredibly large bug with CM poisons in PvE. At first I wanted to test if you still didn't get a TEF from tossing poisons at Rebel NPCs while covert, which you now do. However I found a much larger bug. If you poison an NPC down to 1 hp and then kill htem you get an incredible amount of Combat XP.
For those who don't know Combat xp is 10% of the individual weapons xp that you get per kill. It can be higher, but that's only when you hit your xp cap so you don't see the proper ratio.
From these rebels I was getting at least 115% combat xp. I tested it out with different weapons too. I used poisons on 3 rebels, a Specforce Colonel, a Specforce General and a Specforce Sergeant. For them I got the following xp (Weapon/Combat) 150/3000, 200/3512, 100/2900. The low weapons xp was because I was using a carbine and I only had carbines 1 at the time, but I think those numbers display the severity of this bug. With my Rifle I would get more weapons xp, but still more Combat xp.
I can't quite explain what's causing this, but I beleive they're somehow adding something to the combat xp formula when poisons are used.
Just to make sure it wasn't a global bug, I tried normally killing a few Rebel NPCs and without the use of poisons I got normal Combat XP.
This applies to all DOTs now too, not just poison. I tested with health shot 2 but no poison, and still got a boost to my combat XP. Zarlor is right I believe; they're letting poison contribute to the kill now - this should mean loot rights and XP (which becomes combat XP).
So if you need combat XP, be sure to load up on the DOTs!
I wonder if the amount is a bug or not though, combat XP has always seemed to be too hard to get, so I'm hoping that it is intentional...
why would you complain about this
its works the same with health shot and flame throwers
you need exp you hit em with a powerful skill you got and knock em down withyour weaker skills
how else you supposed to level a combat medic i mean you have no health or action because you have to pump everything in your mind pools so you can heal more than 3 times in 10 minutes
