Thread: A Non CM Take on the Nerf, I mean Patch...

This patch was stupid, and I'm not a CM. What the community asked for was for disease and poison not to cause triple incaps and for disease and poison to have a chance to miss. True to form, SOE nerfed it to uselessness.


For the record I am not a CM, and actually was one who thought that you should just work together more when they showed up, in addition to the above changes, not nerf them to oblivion becase my ego can't handle the fact that I'm not as good at PVP as I think I am, which is 99.99% of the whines about CM's on these forums. Get caught with your pants down and you deserved to lose, so don't figure out how to combat a tactic, just whine, cry, and stomp your feet until you get your way.


CM's should have gotten the area poison heal.


The "buff" should last 5-10 minutes tops, not hours.


The poison line was already worthless in PVE. What's the point of it now?


This game has it's problems because the player base is too stupid and immature to recognize legitimate problems with classes and get them fixed and the developers seem unable to pick out constructive posts from whining.


Jedi's have a few problem, so let's completly put off doing everything else in the game and spend half a year developing them while proffessions legitimatly broken since launch (Squad Leaders and Smugglers) can wait till whenever the hell we get around to it to fix their proffesions. Because the Jedi forums whine louder I guess, and everyone and their brother bitched and moaned about AFK anything (which I don't like, but I'd rather have a few pistol specials working first, and I'm sure other classes given their choice would have picked the same for their class.)


Every monday morning, people came here and moaned about CM pwning them over the weekend. It was fun till they showed up. Blah, blah, blah. I'm not playing till their fixed (which you never did stop playing or PVPing, you just liked to look cool on the boards by saying that). They shouldn't be this effective. Well, what they needed was to have to expirement on other stats like effectivness instead of damage like other classes too, so they they couldn't just have uber strong poisons that killed you so quick. They needed to miss when they throw, and throw from the same ranges everyone else can fight from, and not throw through walls. But everyone got their wish, and now they have completly broken a class to near worthlessness. The only thing CM's had a strong value is PVP for half their skills. Now those are taken away because a bunch of you couldn't address the real problems with the class and just set around hating on them and throwing temper tantrums on the boards.


I say, now that this is done, I am completly on board with you all. I'm with ya. So we can't stop here.


I want to see Fencer Defenses halfed if not quartered because they are pains in the ass to hit. Nerf COB to oblivion.


I want rifleman speed raised to the point they can only shoot a special every 20 seconds.


I want knockdowns from Pikeman put on a 80 second timer.


I want Stun taken out of the game completly and kinetic to be the only damage type.


I want Two Handed Swordsman damage divided by at least 2 if not 3.


I want all Novice Brawler's useful skills (Warcry and Intimidate) moved too master elite professions or Jedi. (Sorry, not mine, I read that from a Jedi on their forum)


I want TKM's Meditate to have to take place for 25 minutes before it cures states or wounds.


I want knockdown removed from the game.


I want Carbineers state attacks only stick 5% of the time.


I want pistoleers to recieve a -1000 to hit penalty when they shoot on the run.


I want Squad Leader specials not to be used in PVP (not mine again, real posts)


Come on now, we can't quit now. There are a lot of professions out there that need our help. We have to keep fighting the good fight. We've managed to get one profession ruined by adding another cash cow to the doctors, so maybe give them buffs that can get around all of the above and make them last for 9 hours and I think we might be on to something.


Don't let me down.

I could not have said it better my friend.


I picked up CM about 4 months ago as a way to "have the nukes". I figured that our guild needed one as we didnt have one, and no one wanted to be the bad guy. I took it upon myself to play that part.


What I found was really quite different that I planned.


As I began my MCM status, I will admit my goal was to have the best diseases and poisons, I wanted to drop entire groups of enemies and be the big man in the battle. What I ended up with was the exact opposite.


Spider venom is a pain in the ass to get, and really quite honestly I didnt like throwing one as I knew that the millions of credits it was worth would have bought our riflemen some killer rifles, or our pikemen some insane DOT weapons.

Anyway, 50% of all the resources needed to create really insane poisons were never on the server in a quality that helped me any, and I really ended up with my best personal poison ticking around 650. I never saw for myself anything above that. Granted 650 a tick is pretty harsh.




What I really stumbled into, that I enjoyed the hell out of, was the ability to keep my comrades in the battle. I loved the fact that I could ranged heal, and heal the mind of a dropping ally. I found my niche in the battle soon was nothing more than keeping our uber toons up.


Now, my battle is simple, it consists of me running in with the group, dropping one AOE c poison (450 tick) and then watching my group window looking for people that need my assistance. I picked up enough doctor to heal poisons and diseases, and I pretty much run around taking states off my friends, and curing what ales them.


I dont know how many times I have taken mind wounds for a friend. Only to watch him take that new lease on life and drop a few enemies to the ground.


I for one love my combat medic, I will not be dropping it any time soon.


I do however feel that we have to be strong, and we have to stand up and protest a little.


SOE has a way of over-reacting to EVERYTHING. We aren't the first to get nerfed. We wont be the last. Just be strong.

Just to let ya know.....650 is not bad at all. After 320 effectiveness, the amount of quality increase in resources to get an increase in damage is exponential. I've reached 700 once on the 1-day crafting change patch. My best since is 688. I can probably reach 690 with the next batch....we will see.

that was a good day!! lol...I made a schematic for 58 powered aiamps......lol


as far as this nerf is concerned...we are getting done like the creature handlers...the thing is all of the trolls don't realise...it's not the ch...the commando or the cm ruining pvp...it's the gtef, it's the temploiters who are effectively unhittable......

Hehe....sorry, I shoulda said without loot drops. Spider venom is insane. The best infection amplifier I can make right now is 58 power....what's the point of making a loot drop comonent five times that value?


'Crafted items will always take precident over loot drop items' Doesn't seem to be the case there, now, does it?

Oh, I wasn't aware that was an inaccurate fact. After 2200 posts, I'd thought you'd have picked up on that by now. If that's not the case, please point me to the posts that get responsded to that don't fit into the above category.
