Hey guess... we are having a little friendly discussion on the Corbantis boards, I would prefer to keep it a server thing, but I was wondering how well you guys think I am defending our profession, I am fighting hard against the l337 d00ds

Seems like he was just willing to bang his head against the wall longer.

While I am honestly not a big dot fan (although a long time MCM and long time user of the dot), I feel that it is quite true that the main dot opponent is not willing to grow and change his tactics to fit SWG warfare. A doctor IS required to PvP, as much as armor, buffs and a combat profession are. If this person is not willing to attempt to use the tools offered to him through grouping, it could be assumed that he does not have the knowledge required to critisize so (although I agree with many of the points raised).

Many stackers will laugh at jedi, saying they could fight 2 or 3 knights at a time and come out ahead, but complain about combat medics.

Many Doctors will complain about how they don't have the ability to stand up to jedi, who can incap them in seconds, but will laugh at combat medics, who are unable to get past their ability to heal before the first tick.

Perspective. CM may be overpowered,(seeing a combat medic is more frightening than seeing a pistoleer) but its not the only one and multiple counters exist. It is required that you grow and change. If this fellow doesn't want to be enslaved to a doctor, he should work with one for common goals. The corny but truthful answer is freindship is needed. Join a PvPing guild, provide its doctor(s) with resources, money, lots, whatever, and benifit.

Or wait for the CU. Whatever.

Favorite quotes from that post. He's gotta be a young kid....or from Idaho sorry, napolean dynamite horror flashback just hit me then.

People love to use the word "melee stacker", when everyone is hiked up on food that grants them fake skills and mods anyway. Buffing is the most frequent use of defense stacking.

I asked some people about resist buffs, and they said that they come with normal buffs. Even if I didn't betray myself with buffs in pvp, I still refuse to buy a "ticket" to pvp from a doctor, just to fight members of the enemy faction.

Combat medics ruin everything, dots ruin everything, but most importantly the devs ruined everything. They did it by giving cowards dots as a vessel to beat people who would otherwise own them.

yet im mainly concerned about the strength of the poisons. they are simply put too powerfull, and yes you can counter this with buffs, yet who wants to buff constantly cause they worry about one profession.

WOW, just WOW, Owrute you tell'em. I'm 12pt (and now finally out of debt yay!) and I've given up wearing armor in PVP, just about given up buffing myself in PVP, and taken Cloning to the extream, just get with a good Tank, throw your nice poison at the bad dudes, they come and kill you, who cares tho? you got insurance and are cloned, just get on your swoop head back to the fight, and be all happy. Sure CM maybe a little overpowered, but on Bria where Imps outnumber rebs 3 to 1, I see it is justified when the rebs (which I am) have a nice group of 4-6, and the imps come walking in with 15-20. We rebs only last a chance because of poison and DoT pikes. In 1 battle in the Coronet starport against a jedi knight, I think she killed me 5 times, but thanks to SOE me dieing only counted twice against my PvP rating.

And Owrute, you are so true about it is way harder to make a good poison, then a good buff. Plus, whenever people PvP, they go to a medical center city, and get normal buff +400. Poison isn't affected by that making CM harder since Docs get bonus. My top poison is 320 effectiveness with purchaced resources, and some mined myself, but still getting thoes resources cost me 10 million to just start my business. I just worked my ass off to pay a friend back for a 7 million loan.

Also, people see all these SEA's out there with CM effectiveness and whatever and think, ooo, these are worth a ton to CM's, but half of them are broken and worth nothing.

Be a sport, PvP and die a lot and not care about your PvP rating. I'm here to have fun, not wine and moan about how our Prof is uber over everyone elses. If other people want to complain about our prof, so be it. They're spending their money playing the game just to complain that it is unbalanced. Basically I don't see how that is fun at all, plus a waste of 15 bucks a month.

Let them complain, but even SOE thinks CM is perfect how it is. The CU has some good CM's in it, plus some of the Docs in the CU are also CM meaning we have the advantage which also means it's going to make it difficult for the PvP defense stackers to change our prof.

Just my 2 cents. Feel free to flame me, it's your 15 bucks you're spending. Think before you talk, that's all I ask.

Oh and 1 other thing, I just started business a week ago, and all my mind poison I made sold in less then a day due to no other CM vendors anywhere on my server. On Bria, if you didn't stock up a while ago, or making your own, PvP didn't have CM's.

As a DOC/CM I find most arguments to be hilarity at their finest. My job is to keep the team alive. However, my ticks are as follows

Area a = 734
Area b = 844
Area c = 1044
Single c = 1050
Area Mind Diesease C = 472

Whether I take someone out in the battle or not is regardless. I toss my stuff so they are healing themsleves and not fighting. Thats my job, distract the offense. If your doctors suck you will die.

Hehe, my area's cure's rock too. I can hit 590 power w/o janta blood and I made a 913 power area poison cure a week ago just to prove that this is not a "game over" tool, like everyone says it is. =]
