Combat Medic Archive

Okay, so here it goes...

I was grinding Combat Medic in Coronet on weekend, and I finally could make area stims. I decided that they would be an easy way to get more healing based experience, because multiple tumblers=multiple opportunities.

Unfortunately, I had recently declared myself as a covert member of a faction. I did not understand "every" aspect of faction affiliation, and this problem presented itself without warning or hesitation.

That same day, since most of the tumblers were already taken in the medical center, I went to the Coronet cantina to heal up the musicians and dancers. After tossing about 40 area A stims, I was almost ready to get another skill box trained, when I began to notice that I was taking damage (I had the volume turned off, because I was watching tv at the same time.)

Three players were attacking me, and I didn't know what to do since I gave up combat skills for CM, and I didn't have any poisons made because I didn't expect to be attacked within a cantina by anyone, let alone other players. They incapped me fairly quickly, killed me, and when I respawned in the cloning center I could only stand back and watch in horror as a dark jedi knight and 4 players ran into the facility and started re-killing those who had just respawned. I tried my best not to attract attention, but I also knew that if they cared to look at their radar I would be dead no matter what. They eventually left, and I went back to the medical center, destroyed all of my area stims, and haven't used them since.

After talking to my guildies, I learned a few ins and outs of covert to overt rules. I wish that I had thought to look up this faction affiliation stuff on the holocron....

So, does anyone else have a somewhat tragic tale of an Area Stim/Poison/Disease going awry?

My advice it to just take all your armor off and head back to the med center. If you take your armor off then you will not get any decay due to damage if someone attacks. If you die due to pvp you do not take any decay due to death.

So in the end, you have nothing to loose if you get attacked other than walking back to the cantina.

The most tricky TEF is that of a same faction BH and the Jedi mark. If you use an area heal on the Jedi while the BH is near enough to get healed you will wind up with a TEF against the Jedi. Nothing more humbling than having your Jedi friend area kd/dizzy you when your trying to help them.

It's very very easy to get a TEF unintentionally with Area Stims.

Luckilly TEFs are going away soon so you won't have to worry about it for too much longer.
