My apologies if this should only be in the "templates" thread but I'm pretty dead-set on all of it except the final 14 SP. I'd really like some input from CM's CM/DOC's with field experience whether it be high end PvE or PvP (I currently do not actively PvP but our group is looking at getting into it). I'm devoting 15 SP to resource gathering in the hopes to someday be a MCM but that is down the road a bit right now.

Master Pistoleer
Master Medic
CM 3.0.0.4 (75 CM use, decent effectiveness)
Novice Doc (states and register ability)
15 SP to float between Artisan and Scout (I still need to harvest resources )

That leaves 14 SP, and I'm sorta torn on what to take:

1) Wound Treatment Speed line from Doc (cure pois/fire/dis)

My thoughts:

Wound Treatment speed line would allow me to stand tall solo much much longer as well as helping /cure the group. I know many advise the 4.0.0.4 CM 3.0.0.0 Doc route but if I'm goin to be able to cure I want it all.

2) Wound Treatment line from Doc (rez & enhance ; not sure if 55 MEDUSE buffs are really common/worth it though)

My thoughts:

Wound Treatment Line from Doc really seems to make the most sense - basically if someone gets too farked pois/dis/mind damaged/whatever I can rez them if they fall. Not sure how smart this would be in PvP where seconds can mean the difference in the sway of a battle but it seems for PvE this would be the smartest route.

3) Ranged Healing line from CM (Heal Mind)

My thoughts:

I dropped 2.0.0.4 TKA in order to take up CM since I had decided to stick with Pistoleer; keeping in the ranged/marksman profs is a more "efficient" use of SP. Without the ability to /meditate will Mind Heal only end up getting me killed in the field due to creating mind wounds?

Any help/advise/stories/etc are greatly appreciated - thank you for your time.

You've hit on most of the big ones.

About buffs. It's possible thatyou can use enchance A's at novice doctor, I don't know for sure. Check your local crafting doc or the doc forum for more details. Depending on what your hunting it could be very useful when combined with food/drink (there is more then just brandy out there ), very quick and self sufficient. As stated you'd have to check on the skill use of enchance A's.

Other possible suggestions.

FS skills

Scout hunting 4. Yes I know you want to switch between artisan/scout but it's really not that difficult to get hunting 4 during each hunting session.

Of course if your not master CM you'd need to purchase all your CM supplies.

I dont see why you would want the 15 points for scout/art since your not going to be crafting. Unless you use resouce gathering to make cash I would put those points to a better use.

With those extra points you could get

4004 CM

4030 Doc (better MU for higher end meds)

M. Pistols

Though I would only do the pistols if you really love pistols (rifles are generally prefered).

You could do about any healing other than mind and buffs.

I was thinking the same thing, but he's probably a miner and hunts resources for others. Prefectly acceptable and well rounded template. Not the best for PvP of course but it gives you lots to do in game.

personally id pick up the wound healing speed line for the fire/poison/disease cures. just about any combat prof tied with the ability to throw decent poisons/diseases and to decently heal poisons/fire/disease off of yourself makes for a pretty sturdy pvp template. if you do decide to drop the artisan/scout i would suggest picking up Master Pistoleer/4004cm/4030doc as was suggested above. that would probably be a VERY frustrating temp to fight against.

If I had to reccomend a use for 14 SP it would be novice brawler. Intimidate is a great way to stay alive while your poison ticks off thier mind. Coupled with full state healing capablities and Stim E's you would be exceptionally difficult to kill. The most common way I am killed is with mind fire or a 1k powerhammer to the head...

14 - 15 = -1 , unfortunately

I think I've decided on 4/0/0/0 Doc for my last 14 SP's, that leaves me with the option of swapping that top box out for 4/0/0/4 CM to get a little more effectiveness if I so choose to sacrifice the ability to /cure disease (whenever I've got the XP stored up to do so (not hard to come by at at all))

If you notice I also have left 15 "unused" points to rotate between Artisan/Scout, which also means I could take up Novice Brawler at any point as well just simply trade in one novice for another. I agree, Intim is a great thing to have.

Scout = PvE
Artisan = whenever resources shift/need to place harv's
Brawler = PvP and "big game" hunting where harvesting isn't the goal

Thanks for the replies.
