Thread: Noob fighting tips :)

First time I'm trying CM and I'm doing it together with pistols. What's the basic tactic for fighting as a CM?Both high level NPCs and creatures. Are there any abilites that are broken and not worth using at all for example?

Don't use infect....it's useless. The most common way to start a fight is to paralyze the opponent and hit them with your debuffs (they cause no damage so the paralyze will hold). If you are pistols and you are fighting a melee creature, make sure you electrolyte drain (reduces movement speed) and then kite. He won't be able to keep up with you and you'll have much success.


Against range, it's still good to put the speed debuffs on them and then concentrate on the specials of your weapon to finish them off, paralyzing as needed to heal yourself. Throwing poisons and fire is up to you, but don't bother if you are not master as the stick rate sucks for non masters.


The key to remember is CM is designed to give you an advantage from the start with the debuffs and then use your weapons, specials for the actual fight.

That is actually a good tip I've been having difficulties for the past few days trying to figure out why I suck now on live as opposed to Test center when the CU was being beta tested. It looks like I'll have to re-do most of my commands and things to make it easier for me. I have some suggestions when fighting other players. I'm an MCM/MP and I'm curious what are some good tactics against Bounty Hunters, Riflemen and or Carbineers?

I find in PvP against rifleman they're SAC will drop fast so i stick haemorrage on and wait for it to get low then use the KD hit from marksman on them. This means it takes a while for them to regen the action needed to use KD recovery and with a good gun you can incap them fairly easily in this time.

I don't paralyze before heals usually. I try and conserve mind for other stuff.
