Thread: Crazy Idea..don't know if this has been thought of before

You know everyone comes on these forums and cries nerf, etc. Mostly because we are able todamage/poison an unhealable pool..the mind. I also was seeing how CMs feel that there are very little supplies that the community are dependant uponthemfor (unlike CM needing components from docs, etc). How about if there was a heal mind stim that was made by combat medics. There can be low level ones that can be used by anyone, like stimA's and then higher ones based on med use, just like other stims. I don't know what already is planned by the devs in upcoming publishes, and I know something to make the mind healable is planned so this is probably just out there, but it makes since. CM have the ability to heal mind already..so why not they be able to be the crafters for the mind stimpack. Crazy...yes I know

Yeah, its been suggested before. I don't think we'll be seeing anything like that in the near future.

We already have healmind... which I love to use, In PvP or PvE who cares if your natural mind is at 1 point I have brandy, muon, and canape to counteract that. An occasional Milk never hurt either.

SUPPOSEDLY (from different things I read concerning plans for combat balance) the ability to target the mind pool is going away. Now who knows if that's actually the case, or if it will apply to CMs as well, but that would only be fair. Now as for the smuggler revamp and teh spice...the smuggler revamp has been pushed back yet again (I really feel bad for those guys, they've been getting the shaft since launch). Either way, I feel that if the pool can be targetted, then it should be able to be healed. Maybe have the penalty come our of action to heal mind since you can't really take it out of the same pool you are healing. I know it'd be a little hard to explain from an RP standpoint, but then again this is the game that has thousands of jedi during a point in time in the real story when there were none. /shrug

According to the unofficial reports of the fanfest, it appears that targeting specific pools is not going away. You can still headshot to increase your chance of hitting the mind pool, this has a lower chance to hit the target, and even if it hits it could still "miss" and hit the chest of the target. Personally I am concerned that this will eliminate the usefulness of every attack except bodyshot (since in any group battle there is limited use to specifically target a pool except the most common hit healt pool), but there may be other circumstances in the revamp we are not aware of...

Actually, I don't think I have hear the idea of a craftable mind stim before. It may have been proposed, but I know it does sound familiar to me... As mentioned already though, in the current framework a mind stim would not work because it would in theory heal for more than it cost to use, and you could fight for forever. If you made it incur wounds it would be better, but even then with how wounds work right now, a person with two brandies fighting PvE could fight for forever despite having 1000 wounds.

Post combat revamp though, all bets are off, and this might be a good idea. Maybe make doctor stims only heal health or health and action, and combat medic stims heal everything... Kind of crazy in my opinion, but it might be worth looking into.

I'd say we wait for the combat revamp

it's been said that health and action will again be pools that we would want to attack because only specials will be regenned faster with buffs.....

I also think the mind damage will be fixed (meaning all weapons will be attacking more random pools)

cause right now only a few professions are worth using for PvE

yeah I know, we have a lot to wait for (so only non-jedi are allowed to cry now, patience u know!!!!!! :smileyhappy

Its been asked a number of times but since the MIND is needed for most combat professions it is deemed overpowered to be able to heal the MIND bar without a penalty. In other words without buffs or muon I'd be able to spam headshot3, area heal, and then heal my mind to full. It has to be a full mind heal otherwise its useless against any from of mind damage in combat.

That and the devs are used to the whole idea of a "mana" type system.

The impression I got was that you would still be taking mind damage but that you wouldn't be incapped at 0. There was some mention that the mind pool would be healable but no details given (for all we know they could be talking about /healmind).

There has been ALOT of rumors about doctor buffs getting reduced, specials given longer delays, and armor getting a big nerf. If thats the truth I'll be spamming alot more strafeshot3 in the future.

My question is why are they giving all of this attention to jedi but the major game aspect is put on the backburner? I bet alot of people will probably get bored with Jedi vs. BH...err SWG for a while until jump to lightspeed comes out. X-wing Alliance anyone?
