(Just so you know, petitions on the forums tend to have almost no effect, short of having it cross several professions and having a massive response...)
What do you mean "keep combat medics as they are"? If you mean keep everything exactly the same as it is now, it is unlikely that will happen. There are many acknowledged bugs (such as +65m throwing), and several items which are considered game breaking by the player base (such as halva). The devshave committed to changing thingsin so far as to fix bugs at an absolute minimum.
Not to mention the fact that even if combat medics do not change, this is not to say the system won't change around them. For example, when mind becomes healable post combat revamp, even if absolutely nothing directly changed in combat medic, how a combat medic will behave in combat (and thus their place in combat) will be changed significantly. So with the combat revamp, if implemented the way the devs have hinted they are going to, there is literally no way to "keep CMs the way they are."
Now if you are petitioningto keep the vision of combat medics as they are (ambiguous healers/poisoners, etc.), that might make more sense...

Yea...I'd much sooner sign a petition to remove this profession from the game. Of course I'd much sooner sign that than do much of anything.

And havla needs to not work with our poisons and diseases. 
And we need to have full experimentation on our BECs, CRDMs, and LS. (perhaps leave Docs with full SDS experimentation...since they aren't used in any CM stuff).
