Thread: A funny thing happened to me on the way to...

Just a short story I thought was fun.

I was running some faction missions out ofan NPC outpost. After about an hour of doing this, I return to the outpost, only to notice a blue dot on the radar standing right in the center of the base, no NPC's. I approach, and of course it's an overt person, who of course is carrying a large rifle, and of course I'm TEF'd.

I casually dismount my speeder bike, store it, and greet him (surreptitiously checking his HAM, andyes, he is buffed to 3000+ HAM). He in turn greets me. I then casually walk to the cloning center to make sure I have my clone point set, and ask if he was there to cause trouble for people. By this point, he in turn is heading to the star port, and responds "oh no, I was just leaving".

So I say that that was good, and go get my next set of missions. I come back 5 minutes later, see the starship in dock, and see no more blue dot.

I love having my master combat medic title up, it saves me from so many TEF attacks...

I like stacking all 18 of my mind, willpower, and focus diseases on overts that are just standing there... but then again, I'm mean.

That is only one of the many many hundreds of thousands of reasons why this broken profession and the little power trippers who flock to it need to be nerfed.

Before you jump in about "You're just jealous" Anyone can do what you do, how long does it take to level up to CM? Couple days? wow such an investment.. Playing a CM these days is like playing a game by yourself on God Mode, it's just lame.

There are 3 groups of people that play this profession.

1) The people who have been Combat Medics since they first started, the people who enjoy the profession for both ranged heals, mind healing, and poison disease. I'm sure they're just as upset about the next group as the rest of the population.

2) The power tripping bandwagon boys, these kids cheat when they play solitaire. And will eventually be the downfall of the profession.

3) The people who got tired of the previous group and switched over to counter them the only way they could, by becoming one themselves.

The combat rebalance will most likely take care of all of this, but who knows. CM should have never never never been left out of the 75% reduction. Poisoning through walls is a joke, just as shooting through them was.

So you can get your little CM shorts in a wad and start flaming this post, I could care less. I only came to this board to post this and I'll be back to my regular haunts. I won't be reading responses because there is no excuse for group #2 and I don't feel like shoveling through the BS they'll try and justify it with.

Have a nice day.

I know an MBH that wears his bugged MCM title still. Personally I prefer my bugged Assassin title.

That is only one of the many many hundreds of thousands of reasons why this broken profession and the little power trippers who flock to it need to be nerfed. Our profession isn't broken its neglected, but yeah we do have our share of power trippers who just gotta be CM's (or partial CMs..blah).

Before you jump in about "You're just jealous" Anyone can do what you do, how long does it take to level up to CM? Couple days? wow such an investment.. Playing a CM these days is like playing a game by yourself on God Mode, it's just lame. Hmm, why did you even put this in here. Levelling up doctor takes maybe a few hours more since you can spam stimB's at novice doctor waaaaaaaay faster than you can toss an area A. I feel your hate..

There are 3 groups of people that play this profession.

1) The people who have been Combat Medics since they first started, the people who enjoy the profession for both ranged heals, mind healing, and poison disease. I'm sure they're just as upset about the next group as the rest of the population. I thought it was kewl when I get hit with an area heal and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread so I became a CM. After trying my hand at PvP (when I was working pistols no less) I realized the flaw in the game and now am a hated rifleman/CM.

Yes CM's should have been and will always be left out of the 75% reduction. How much damage can you do against an 80% kinetic wearing player in ten seconds? Why don't you look at why rifleman, CM's, swordsman, and TK's are sooo powerful. Its because they all do MIND damage. Any class that doesn't have MIND attacks or stun damage weapons are almost worthless in PvP. If the vulnerability of the MIND gets fixed in the combat revamp you'll realize our poisons suck in dps.

I won't be reading responses because there is no excuse for group #2 and I don't feel like shoveling through the BS they'll try and justify it with. Bye bye, we dont like you posting griefs on the boards either buddy. Try looking at the real problem instead of the symptom.

Have a nice day. Not today, I have to go buy some crates of stim components from my doctor supplier to make some ranged stims..

That was why I became a CM also. I love the ability to support my guildmates and group in battle. The poison/disease is tons of fun also, but I really enjoy healing. There is nothing like throwing out an area heal or throwing a ranged heal to keep your group members alive in battle

I finally got a chance to spam something other than poisons last week during a base raid. Thanks to the turret bug I was having to toss area stims faster than I could keep up. Then the person manning the turret took me out in one burst...ouch. Now if they could just make it so that we could make our own stim subcomponents as good as doctor crafted subcomponents. Might even give us a little piece of the stimB market that doctors have cornered.

I have to hide my title....Imperials here seem to enjoy griefing the Combat Medics if they find them.

I should try that next time I get a TEF...sounds like fun

I have to hide mine now. I got tired of getting tells from CM dabblers asking if I can make them some poisons or entertainers asking for me to disease them.

For the former,if I don't feel like crafting I tell them "sure I can, but I charge (insert obscenely high price here, such as 50k) per medicine, I would recommend finding another combat medic". If they say your too expensive and stop harassing you, great. And if they actually want to buy some, even better (as it is probably somebody who is saving SP for an elitecrafting or combat profession, for whom money is no object).

As for the latter, I personally try to help them out whenever convenient, as they havehard lives (no tips, wounded people asking formoney to be healed, etc.). If I am bored when somebody requests help,I'll drop by the cantina and area disease some people. But if I am in a hurry, my response usually is, "I'm in the starport and the ship is taking off in 6 minutes, if you can reach me in time I'd be happy to help out". The *cough* victimfrequently tips a few thousand credits too, which helps make me continue the practice.

Keep in mind that when diseasing people for entertainers, focus and willpower are also targetable pools, and you can basically triple the exp gain for entertainers if you disease all the stats... I knew those secondary disease packs I carry around had a use somewhere.

Honestly, I think Combat Medic is overpowered, but I dont want them to be nerfed to non-existence. I have a cm/tka template on one of my characters, and it's very very very very hard to get all of the advanced resources for all my poisons.

I remember back in the TKA-nerf days.....Guess they have officially moved to cm's
