Thread: IDEA: A Way for Healers to do Business with Non-Helaers

I am posting this on all of the "healer threads," so i can get maximum input. Anyway, here it goes:


I thought that if Medics, Combat Medics, and Doctors could all make stuff that other people, no matter their profession, could use. Now to make things fair, these "usable-by-everyone" things can't be that good. An example would be a medic making stimpacks usable by anyone. The only problem is that these stims give no xp, and really don't heal for much. But, they would still be useful to people with no healing abilities at all. And maybe Combat Medics could make some kind of poison or something like that that is weak, gives no xp, but once again, is helpful to those with no Combat Medic skills. These things would allow medic professions to do business with people other than other medics.


I had more ideas on this topics when i went to sleep last night, so if they pop up in my head again, i'll post them. Please post any feedback you have (positive or negative). Maybe the Devs can make something good out of this. Who knows...

The issue isn't about experience points earned. Most people get novice medic and never go past it in their entire SWG careers since its not needed since healing isn'tthat big of a priority. And forget about making weak poisons! I could already here the regular nerf criers screaming bloody murder over that. People will pay big money for semi-weak stone knives with MIND poison DoTs on them.


You spend your points like the rest of everyone else dude. If you cant drop 15 on novice medic to use OVERPOWERED doctor made stimB'sso you can get more defense or offense then you're up a creek. Giving non-point using healing abilities takes away from the healing classes and healing in this game is pretty much a joke where it stands thanks to OVERPOWERED doctor buffs.


Up the medicine skill on stimB's and/or nerf doctor substat buffs will givethe healing communitywhat they really need. Being able to solo through 3 elite professions in this game without ever needing anything other than doctor buffs is pretty sad. At least with substat buffs reduced players would either have to employ some skill to their grinding (and make it an actual challenge) or have to have someone as a dedicated healer (even middle tree medics would greatly benefit).


Now if I could just get some recompense for all of those area stims I was spamming on the corvette

Brainplay took the words right out of my mouth.


Master CM / Master Doc here. That gives me 18 skill points left over. I spent 14 of them on a single line in the marksman tree. That gives me 4 points that have gone unused. Theranged support line along with a marksman 4 box gives me a mighty + 8 ranged defense and +2 melee defense......Total. How much fun do you think I have if I catch agro in the Death Watch Bunker?


If being the best healer in the game means no skillpoints left to spend on getting melee/ranged defense or mitigation....then your stacking to be the best combat character should mean no healing for you if you don't want to pony up the skill points for it.

If you want to be able to heal yourself with lower level stims but do not wish to use your points to obtain novice medic then buy yourself a stim capable droid. You'll have to get a mid level medic or any doc or CM to load it for you but then you will have access to weak healing capapbilities. If you buy half decent Stim As to load it you will get healed 100 HA every 10 seconds (or whatever the droid healing rate is).


If you want to poison people, get a DOT weapon. Since you only want a weak poison, that'll make it all the easier to obtain.


I think the master elite healers do just fine business wise. If nothing else, they sell a lot of things to the non elite dablers like myslef. I haven't made a stim since I saw one for sale that was 5 times better then anything I could produce. Once I left medic (now a novice doc / novice CM) I never even thought of climbing the crafting tree. I'm a little gready here but I don't want the CM or Doc crafters loading up their vendors with stuff I don't want (weak poisons and weak stims), I want them to load up on stuff I spent skill points earning the right to use.


If you've ever stood in a buff line you see first hand the most obvious example of healers doing business with non healers.


Sorry this is not meant as a flame but I want the devs to add new contentjust not this type of content.
