Ok, well first of all I'm not trying to get anyone really upset or grief on the CM profession but if one takes an objective look at the CM profession, how does it make logical sense that a CM can poison or disease a target that is for example 48m away? I just don't get how anyone can justify this as plausible. I get maybe that you have to shoot someone with a dart or I dont really care what but just bang and your poisoned? Ok lets say you poison/disease someone by air---well that would make sense but even now we have gas masks and such so why not have those to block it? and also if it was by air why wouldn'tthe CM's own teammates get it since you really cant control where it goes then. The only other way is to put the poison in someone directly or put it on their skin. Wait though I'm wearing armor with no skin exposed so...it just really irks me that I havent come across an explanation to how the CM prof really works and they can get me to 1 mind before I get close to them and then its like 1 hit/shot to incap and ultimately kill me. I can see that there is some fantasy in SWG like how an unarmed person can kill a squill or such but seriously I think this goes out of the range of acceptable.
It seems like to me the CM is the witch or wizard class. It's just magic how they work.
Can someone come up with a reasonable answer to this? Because I surely cant.

Sufficiently advanced technology will allways be indistinguishable from magic.

Yay....fun time!

Oh no, please don't start the range complaint here (hopes you don't)
I just don't get how anyone can justify this as plausible. I get maybe that you have to shoot someone with a dart or I dont really care what but just bang and your poisoned?
Pretty much...it's a container of deadly stuff that has a release mechanism on it, you toss it at someone, it releases, and the poison goes out. Some are concentrated to hit 1, some spread.
Ok lets say you poison/disease someone by air---well that would make sense but even now we have gas masks and such so why not have those to block it?
Potency.
and also if it was by air why wouldn'tthe CM's own teammates get it since you really cant control where it goes then.
Same reason as why I do a strafe2 and it goesright through my buddy. There's no friendly fire in this game, except the commando, because the devs hate them.
The only other way is to put the poison in someone directly or put it on their skin. Wait though I'm wearing armor with no skin exposed so...
It's gas canister, it's administered by the air.
it just really irks me that I havent come across an explanation to how the CM prof really works and they can get me to 1 mind before I get close to them
from how we stand, a MCMis 54m away from you atbest, burstrunto20m then lunge and you can have them no problem....
and then its like 1 hit/shot to incap and ultimately kill me.
I prefer letting my disease do the dirty work
I can see that there is some fantasy in SWG like how an unarmed person can kill a squill or such but seriously I think this goes out of the range of acceptable.
I don't see how.....having someone use TKA alone is unacceptable, jedi running around is unacceptable, only 4 professions I see in the true SWG feel are Swordsman, Carbineer, and Pikeman. Really. Oh, Pistoleer too, Bounty Hunter.....I think that's pretty much it
It seems like to me the CM is the witch or wizard class. It's just magic how they work.
Nah. We're the baseball players, the outfielders
Can someone come up with a reasonable answer to this? Because I surely cant.
/thankgod you didn't complain about range!!!

I was getting excited, hoping thatthe title would lead to a meaningful discussion about"logistics."
I was hoping to learn how to get cheaper fiberplast from Yavin4. I even dared to dream of learning techniques that would make Eleton reactive gas & Class 1 radioactive spawnmore frequently in the Kauri Galaxy .. say every 4 months instead of every 6. Knowing how to managing the spawn statistics would be really cool too, especially if I could order up OQ & DR greater than 500. I seem to be constantly running from planet to planet, harvesting mediocre materials, only to see them completely consumed by my factories. I feel like such a Noob on a treadmill.
There's gotta be a better way, and I came here to learn ... but, no!
I must leave here trolled, and still hated for just being me .. a Combat Medic, just as the coders coded me to be

You come up with a reasonable scientific explanation for lighsabers, and I'll come up with one for CM poison, oki?

I'll add to that.
Come up with an explanationwhy my T21 doesn't blow that charging TKM/Fencer in half with one or two shots as they charge straight at me?
Come up with an explanationwhy swordsmen are able to "headhit" a rancor that stands 30 feet above their own heads?
Come up with an explanation why a race with two giant brainstems and a forehead larger than a watermelon gets a bonus to entertaining?
Come up with an explanation why the Empire is losing when its not "supposed" to happen for many years to come according to the timeline?
Come up with an explanation why "Hybrid" classes which use up MORE skillpoints than an elite profession are according to other playerssupposed to be weaker.
I can go on and on but we all know these questions and more already. This game is far from what SW was originally in terms of content....well what tiny miniscule bit of content there is already.

I have to agree completely with DerHunDaddy. Does this person know what the word "Logistics" mean? Here I thought this thread was going to be a intellectual discussion on optimizing harvester placement or a symposium on haggling with a resource vendor. But no, this is a thread on the realism of Star Wars Galaxies. I play this game because it's fun, not for it's basis in reality.
Not to bag on anyone in particular but, doesn't this person know that the Staw Wars Galaxy from the mind of George Lucas does not exist? It's like trying to gather information on human interaction from "Reality Shows", there is nothing real about it. It all comes from someone's imagination.
Please, if you are going to use big words to entice people to look at your thread, know what they mean.
