Thread: Crafting Specialists take a look please

I haven't taken the time to experiment as much as a lot of other CMs so I thought I'd ask:

When crafting poisons what are the exact resource qualities you look for in each component? For example, I have some copper that's 964 CD and 901 OQ that I use for my Non-Ferrous Metal. Is that the best resource to use and perhaps more importantly, is that the only resource (the metal I use) that is figured into the crafting process that determines Experimental Quality (Charges and Effective Range)?

I am counting on the fact that there are crafters out there that have done enough number crunching with this that can answer this question. I'm not the type to sit around and craft dozens of poisons to see where the differences lie and what resources affect the different qualities of the final product.

If you're out there, or if anyone knows of a website or link to this type of information breakdown I'd appreciate it and I'm sure others would too.

Not to sound ignorant because I think everyone diserves a bit of help but I really think you need to do some trial and error.

I'm a master crafter on my server and may be a bit hesitant to helping someone narrow it down to exactly what metal to use. I like to stay ahead of the competition.

Calculator works well too. Obvious reasons, when working with power and comparing 2 things, do some math and figure out which will give you a higher power. Sometimes a real high oq and low conductivity won't do as well as a bit lower oq with a balanced Cond., just have to add them up to see what's better.

Good luck and hope I didn't come off wrong. I guess my point is, if you're a new crafter, take some time to play with it. Someone that's crafted for a long time may want to see you make some bit of an effort.

Best of luck.

The percentage importance of each of the stats is also listed in each of the schematics. Find what you want to maximize, and prioritize the stats from there. The numbers are slightly misleading (I won't say exactly how though... ), but are 95% or more accurate.

As for what stats are important in a poison, check the FAQ out for information about this and other frequently asked questions.

I'm sorry I forget but there is a very very long-winded article found through one of the stickied threads. It goes on to you about every aspect of crafting. With Meds and Poisons/Diseases in mind. It tells you the equations involved and how the "chance" system works and so on. Its been months since I read it but it is linked to one of the stickies.

No, they can't! They don't want to help. They want to act all uppity and better than you and I because they sat around on their @sses all day crafting away with tons of resources because that's how they wanted to play the game. For those of us who want to be effective and still enjoy hunting... we have to search for ourselves.

Now I know why this forum is normally full of nerf trolls. FYI I've been a master since last August. I make effective poisons that work fine for me. The original post was just an attempt to fine tune things a bit. If you don't really want to help after I posted a simple and polite request ( I even said please!) then just move along.... PLEASE.

I'm sorry you feel so much the way you do.

Crafting is very complex and explaining it all would take an entire day of typing.

I still can't remember the link.

if I want you to phuckn figure it all on your own, I would have just not answered the post. . . .

Since you do now feel this way. . . screw you, figure it out on your own jerk. . . . . . .

This forum is full of Nerf Trolls because of dummies like you that can't handle the few who choose tolive in SWG.

You dabblers hate the Elite. You want what they have but don't want the efforts involved. . . . .

Feel the love....hehe no one likes CM's, even other CM's. LOL

Anyway, I know what a pain it is to do the trial and error crap, esp if like me there hasn't been a decent resource in awhile. Take the titanium alum for instance. When the only good stuff is on a vendor and its expensive and you have to choose between 2 different ones, it sux to buy em both only to find out 1 was a big waste of cash. I know the schematic may say what stats to look for, the question is which resource needs those stats? I thought I had it figured, but still make some crap sometimes, did get lucky on a few, but its because I hit a resource I didn't mean to. I think the non ferrous must be for range, had some with high cd and oq and got great range, but not 100% sure thats what did it. I have yet to get a good eff, and I thought I had some small quantities of good stuff. But you know whats funny? I know the cm's I was going up against had much stronger stuff then I did, and mt group was outnumbered, but we won anyway

So to all the folks who feel the need to keep their "secrets" go for it, who cares. Why I never ask for help around here, I think everyone has gotten so used to flaming the nerf-criers that there is a serious lack of unity with the cm's. Nobody likes us, even our allies and friends refer to us as "those damn cm's"....LOL

I may never know why I always see stronger stuff then mine, but as long as I can find ways to make up for it, so what?

For the record, if and when I figure out the crafting trick, I will post it for all the world to see

Frackk,

Maybe this link will help you understand things more. Be sure to READ it. If you just scan it, you might miss something.
