Thread: Help me kill one of my best friends please?

So, we decide to duel the other night. He's a master rifleman/master BH. I'm a master pistoleer/master CM. He knocks me down and runs away ... I should note at this time that he knows what he is doing and I am a total noob at PvP and I am really NOT all that great at combat having certain genetic disadvantages (like XX chromosomes and age over 25)...


I DID try to slap a deuterium on him - I couldn't heal myself fast enough - he was killing me and all i could do was try to heal and fail to do it fast enough. But he just incapped me no problem at all. I have no clue ... so ... what I need are - tactics. I like him so I don't want to hurt him but /tickle didn't seem to do much so I want to surprise him next time we try this - just really want toincap him just ONCE

Spam Disarm as your first shot, burst run into range.


When you catch him do para/thyroid/drain/para/shock/traumatize/para/hemorrhagethen warning shot, stopping shot, intimidate, stun (burst shot) lob fire and poison if you want and then cycle quickdraw and body shot with a Gorax Featherweight FWG5 with over 900 max damage, under 85 SAC and around 2.00 speed.


Get your self an Advanced Laser Rifle and use that in case he gets out of range. The LD-1 quest reward rifle is kinetic and quite useful too.

Agreed...although, para/shock/thyroid/drain/para/traumatize/para/hemorrhage might be better. The whole point of Shock is to make it easier for the rest of the debuffs to stick.

And be careful if you use the DoT's....the paralysis will not hold for long due to the damage from the DoT breaking it.

Well my method would be a little less orthodox. Burst Run to him/Hemorrage/Heal/Heal/Heal/Heal(at this point if he spams specials he is probably out of action and wont have enough to do that much damage again unless he sits back and regens)/thyroid/disarm/bodyshot/disarm until he dies, but if he is smart and stays healed on stims dot him for good measure. Make sure to hemorrage and not hemorrage/thyroid. This allows him to fire quickly and also drain his action quickly. Lemme know how it goes.

Don't count on his action running low, I am the same template he is with 4000 CM. If he isgood in PvP like you say,he will have a reinforced stock pup (lowers sac by 30%)on his rifle and have his belly full of foods so his action won't go anywhere. If you can outlast his foods with your heals or better yetduel him withouthim using foods thenhe is done for. If you can't do that then run up dot him, debuff him, keep himfrom shooting as much as you can (disarm, kd, etc), keep him from running out of range with root and snare,and make sure kd recovery is an easy button to hit because he will drop you right off and every 30 seconds (pretty sure that is the timer on it)after that. It's all situation dependant.


If I get rooted like that right off the bat and he tries to run out of range, hit him with a root of your own and just bide your time and out heal him. If the root doesnt stick, use your paralyze.


Everything everyone else said is great too but let experiance be your guide.

the laser rifle is a great idea. if he manages to get out of the range of your pistols, you can still use your specials with the rifle.


you MUST learn to rotate your CM heals. they will be boosted a great deal with Pub 19 (VERY good news :smileyveryhappy: ), but even as they are, if you learn to rotate bacta shot, bacta spray, bacta toss (sparingly because of the animation delay) and stim D's, you can stay alive for quite a long time. (take a look at the screenie in my sig)


also take into account his armor type. don't bother with an energy weapon if he's wearing recon, use an kenetic weapon. if he's got full assault armor on, use a powerful energy weapon.


the above stated stragegies are all very good too.

The above suggestions pretty much cover it, but I would also be interested in knowing what skills you have combined with MCM/MP. If you don't have any, its time to get some.

Only thing left to add is make sure you have good equipment and (at the least) stim enhancers, which shouldn't be a problem if your alt is a BE. A well made suit of recon armor would be best, most riflemen seem to use energy weapons.

take shock and throw it out the window. It helps place states on your target (IE blind dizzy ect.) It does not help with elec drain or thyroid because those hit every time without fail. And like JJJ said make sure you have the best equip you can get.

It does however help the the DoTs to stick if you decide to use them.

my 2 cents.....i found it better heals to pick up doc 4xxx, and also use stim d's and some ruby i think to decrease stim time.....if you place dots use towards the middle of fight not right away, youll get better time for paralyze to work,

ps get enhancers for fire and poison they should be hitting in the 300's.

And as a Pistoleer, you have Intimidate and Stun to stick as well.
