Combat Medic Archive

Hello All,

I'm considering joining the Combat Medic class, and I had a couple of questions before i make up my mind.

Are poisons as effective on Npc's as they are on people? I'vehad poison applied to me many times and I didnt' last long after that. So i was just wondering if it's the same on PVE.

Also, I was wondering which poisons were the best for the mind, I want to get the poison tree first and then the others. I figure, if i cant beat the poison, i might as well use it myself.

No, poison sucks in PvsE. Basically most classes have a 75% reduction in weapon damage in PvsP, CM's do not but thats because our average damage over the same period of time doesnt require the reduction, its already low. But in PvsE other classes dont have the 75% reduction here and do massive damage...our poison is the same here and still does the same as PvsP.

Also, I was wondering which poisons were the best for the mind, I want to get the poison tree first and then the others. I figure, if i cant beat the poison, i might as well use it myself.

Sorry friend, to use an effective poison you need to use Poison C packs. Poison A and B suck rocks for resists and damage. So to get poison C...you need a large chunk of the tree, for the most part you pretty much must bea Master CM and there's no real way to get around it im afraid. CM is not a dabbler profession

Khragon is right on. To be an effective poisoner you need.. no MUST be a Master Combat Medic. Once I achieved Master status I realized the power of the class. Combat Medic is not a friendly dabbler class. Its all or nothing. I didnt even start to use poisons till Master. As for PvE... Poisons kinda suck. NPCs it sticks pretty well, but critters resist like mad not to mention you cant loot a critter that dies to poison.
