Ok, this will sound extremely n00bish, but:

How do I know what kinda materials stimpacks and stuff need to be the best quality besides "overall quality?" Like, where does it say that a soansdso stimpack needs maliability, etc? I cant seem to locate this info.

Please help me. Thanks.

that "guide" by SOE is rather useless.

look into the schematics of it, usually it says Overall Quality 66%, and Pot. Energy 33%, or somthing. Scroll down the information in your crafting tool, or in your schematic's slot in the data pad. It will list things like Strength, Ease of use, and Uses, or somthing kinda like that.

Hope that helps!

good pic here, see the resource on the left, compared to the product on the right. Those Percent's on the right are what matters, basically

The only thing that 'guide' doesn't tell you is that malleability determins your risk and success rate when experimenting. Glad to see you took the time to be constructive and help out the younger CMs, Skip.

I think the guide does a good job of explaning what to look for in resources and how to do basic experimentation.

Like Swa't said, you look at the schematic and see what resource qualities are used to determine the stats you want in a final product. Suppose you are bummed that you can only use poisons out to 20 meters. So, how do we make the next batch of poisons that you make go a little farther?

First open up the schematic and look for where your range stat is...it's under charges. If you were putting all of your experimentation points under effectiveness to increase the damage or ease of use to decrease the chance that they will be resisted, then range will not improve.

1. Use experiment points on charges, and range will improve

Next, under range you will see characteristics that will increase range. It will say overall qualitiy and conductivity (I think, going from memory). I don't remember the exact percentages off the top of my head, but one stat may have more of an influence than the other. Well, you look at the aluminum you have last time you made a poison you used an aluminum with 900 OQ and 250 conductivity. If range is 66% quality and 33% conductivity, a new poison made with an 850 OQ and 800 conductivity aluminum will have a better range.

2. Use components with better conductivity and range will increase.

Last step, look at all of the sub-components that go into your poison and see if any of them have a range stat. Dispersal mechanisms (DMs)that go into poisons have a range stat.

3. Repeate the 2 steps above to increase the range on your DMs and that will increase your range.

Same goes for anything else you want to improve on your medicines. If ya have any questions Ixtl, I will try to answer the best i can.
