Couldnt find this in the FAQ, so figured I would throw it out and see if someone can help me...

Do the range and speed lines have the same effect on Poisons and Disease as they do on Heal Packs.

In other words, if I am 0/0/0/4 in CM, and I dont want to heal at all... would I be any better if I were 4/4/0/4?

Just curious really, so I know better how to spend my skill points as I get them... I plan on going to Master, but am a little confused on some of the finer points.

Thanks in advance for your help

The Range and Speed lines work on both your poison/diseases and your ranged heals. Basically, your 'Combat Medicines'.

Oh ya, don't forget that in the range line you also get CM Effectiveness. This makes your DOTs do more damage per tick and your heals bigger.

At Master (at least when they fix it), you'll have a CM Effectiveness of 100 wich doubles that amount of the DOT (e.g. Single poison C w/ effectiveness of 250 will actually tick for 500). You will also get more combat med XP because you are healing more and/or doing more damage.

If your going to hit master combat medic...overall it doesn't matter too much which one you start with first. Your XP gains will be from heals and regular medic stims would be fine for that..especially if your going to use them at cantinas or my favorite "The Warren".

If your trying to figure out how to suppliment your damage with poison to have fun while leveling. Here is some info. There are several stats to poison that is created by a CM. Potency, effectiveness, range, and radius. Potency determines how often the poison will resist. Effectivenessdetermines damage. Range is the distance you can toss. Radiusis the area of effect for the poison. The quality of this matters more than your skill so make sure you get a master combat medic to make them for you. That said, the best poisons (C) are only available to you if your 0 0 0 4. Because of this, I recommend you hit that tree as quick as possible. Limitations of going up this one tree is you won't be able to use your poisons at max damage possible(at highest cm effectiveness your still better off getting better poisons)...and your range is limited to roughly 20m+.

Poison damage is roughly A packs 50B packs 125C packs 250. For obvious reasons you want to hit C poison asap...they are worthwhile.

Here are some basic numbers for you to work with and figure out what you prefer. I never went up first couple of trees but I'm pretty sure that they do effect range and damage.

Damage per tick = (poison effectiveness) * (1 + (CM effectivness) / 100) more effectiveness, better damage
Range = (Base Range of the med) X (1 + (CM range skill/100))

Great reply. I've been wondering some of those things myself.
