I'm going to pvp i was just wondering wich is better. The carbine has great knockdowns and posture changesbut what are the good things for the pistol?

Pistols can be alot faster, but with sliced carbs and speed power-up carbs can be just as fast. Pistols have a lot of good kd and stun shots, as well, but i like the carb alot more. I am Expert CM and Novice Carbineer and i am looking forward mainly to all the group shots i can combo with area poisons. Which include group attack, group stun, and group knockdown, however i do alot more PvE. Those are some of the main reasons i went with Carbineer, but it really just depends on what you prefer!

I chose Carbine because of the range issue, with PvP or PvE. As a CM I choose to poison and disease from a distance with ranged stims or nicely made area stims (with good range), due to this and being a wookiee, being up close and personal as a pistol requires, was not as advantageous as a carbine. The ideal range can be from 40-60m depending on the carbine you choose and as posted prior the speed can be sliced and the knockdowns can help your dot's......

Just my opinion though.

carbine is nice but high ham costs. Pistol is lower ham cost and faster attack speed which is good for when your tossing the stims and grenades. You have disarm shot, and the pistol stance shots do good damage. pistol whip which will knock down targets that reach you in melee...dodge which is getting improved.

Pistol would be my weapon of choice in PvE farming which you'll be doing alot of to pay for those CM packs you need to make. Double bleed and health poison would drop the holocron targets alot faster than most can.(Great if your an imp with AT-ST..cut down the amount of damage it takes...you could still go after decent targets with the rebel 5.5k ham faction pets as well.)

The carbineer profession is nearly suicidal right now due to ham cost. I would go pistoleer/rifleman. But thats now, I cant tell you how pistoleer professionwill turn out after the FWG5 nerf. It too looks like its gonna get hit with some pretty nasty costs.

Initially, I went with pistol simply because of how goofy you look carrying a rifle or carbine while running.

Now, I stick with it because of the ability to stack healthshot and health poison, and the ability to use knockdown at melee range.

I'm pretty satisfied with my present skillset, though I wish I had about 250 more skill points.

Actually your character is more or less what I am hoping for, a little more on the pistoleer side and may be a little less on the Dr side though. That seems a good combo.

Master Combat Medic & Master Carbineer breaks down like this...
1.) Speed - just as fast as a pistol. Dh17, E11, EE3, Elite and even the best DX6 & Laser Carbines can be made and sliced to compare to top pistol speeds. I use a krayt 1.3speed E11 in PvP with light armor piercing for quickdraw situations.

2.) Damage. Pistols cannot compete. The special multiplier for burstshot takes damage into the 3000+ range. Against mobs this is fantastic, and in PvP with the 75% reduction it is still awe inspiring. Carbines have the following specials; Chargeshot - ranged KD good for dropping krayts or that enemy player that decided to go overt in your town. Burstshot - high damage, low HAM cost. Crippleshot - damage to all 3 HAM pools, good for wiping clean those already low and hard to hit stat pools such as mind or action. Actionshot - the carbineers bleed, targets the action pool, works well with action poison C and is an instant shot ATM. Might be a bug, but actionshot has no delay when I use it. Each of the shots have advanced versions that target multiple enemies, and all work well except chargeshot2, which always misses your selected target and knockdowns EVERYTHING ELSE around the target. Annoying when that fambaa is breathing down you neck and you drop 4 of his buddies at once, leaving him to stomp you.

3.) HAM Cost - carbines can be heavy in HAM, yet if you are going to specialize in them you have options. Unlike the rifle, carbines pull from the action pull, and throwing area heals in combat compliments the action drain perfectly. That combined with powerups, food and a good weaponsmith can make the HAM cost of carbines unnoticable.
