Thread: CM noob question
To tell you the truth, I don't often hear of an MCM-Carbineer combo. Most times I see MCM-Rifleman and MCM-Pistoleer (like myself). I think the general idea is to be able to attack a specific HAM pool in conjunctionwith whatever type of poison you are using; where Riflemenfocus onmind pools, Pistoleers focus on health pools, and Carbineers focus on (you guessed it) action pools. One of the reasons people choose to go Rifleman along with MCM is because mind pools are generally harder for enemies to heal or regenerate in PvP. This is academic in PvE since the enemies very rarely heal any of their HAM pools. I have only been an MCM for a few months, but I have yet to see any action poisons being used or sold, though I'm sure they are out there ![]()
The point is, you don't want to throw mind poisons and be a Carbineer if you want to attack one HAM pool and kill efficiently. If you can craft or find a good source of action poisons, then going MCM-Carbineermightwork for your friend.
To answer your original question, the actual damage a poison can do to an enemy does not change from mob to mob (I think). My health poison Ds do about 590 dmg per tick to any enemy, big or small. Of course, there are better and worse poisons out there, so mine may just be average. I don't often use diseases since I usually only PvE, so someone else will have to provide some input on that.
I'm no uber MCM, but I hope this helps. ![]()
a tick is how much damage the poison or disease does, and poisons tick 1 time every 10 seconds. Diseases tick every 40 seconds. The first tick occurs that long AFTER it is applied, so the first tick would be 10 seconds after you throw. These times are not variable or experimentable.
