Thread: Don't nerf CM just give them a new skill

Do I believe that there is a combat imbalance with CM's ability. Yes, I do. Do I think that CMs need to be nerfed. No I don't. Instead of nerfing poison and disease, CMs should get a new skill: GroupPoison/Disease Heal. If CMs have the mechanism to poison and disease large groups, they should have the ability to cure poison and disease through that same mechanism. This would make CMs more important as well as add dynamics to group combat.
How? First, the use of poison/disease would require more strategy. CMscan just lob poison and disease at any time. Countermeasures would force the CMs to wait for the right moment to launch their poison/diseases, after the enemy has lost there CMs or after someundisciplined CMleaves his or her group vunerable to attack. Poison/disease would force better grouping during combat. Since the risk of being poison and diseased would promote being close to a CM. Battlefields would be less choatic from the interdependency that would be forced upon groups due to poison/disease/countermeasures mechanism.
A lot of players want to give skills to doctors to help alleviate the power of poison/disease. I disagree. First, the CM should be the dominant healer on the battlefields, not doctors. Combat medics are trained to work under much more stress. Doctors aren't trained to handle the duress of dealing with giving someone medical attention while thier own life is being threaten. Current game mechanics gimp CMs. Anybody that has the skills to Stimpack Bs can heal themselves easily, especially since mind buffs increases a stims ability to heal more points than its rated for. (This could be eliminated by making CMs the only medic profession that could heal during combat. But that would eliminate soloing in PVE, registering a strong outcry.) Currently, poison/diseaseisthier only strong points. Nerfing it would make them useless. Giving them GroupHealPoison/Disease would make them a more valuable in group combat, while somewhat eliminating the grief of poison/disease.
There are other ways of allowing doctors better participation in group combat. My idea is M.A.S.H units. Mini hospital/clonecenter/catina that could be placed near a battlefield. This would allow doctors and entertainersto woundheal and buff players near combat points allowing less down times and elevating the importance of non-combat characters in combat situations.

this would mean any pvp engagement large or small would have to have a combat medic there... so in affect a war of the CM's.
*shrug* i dunno how to fix the balance just saying in regards to your post.
