I have a master CM alt and he usually does around 500 to 600 damage per tick against mind with his poison. In PvP its a defiler. In PvE its laughable against big creatures. Perhaps what we need is not a nerf so much as giving people some type of defense. A piece of armor, or clothing mod. People arnt made because we do so much damage to mind, they're made because they can do nothing about it. How mad would you be if you could armor youself against everything EXCEPT any attack from a rifleman? Give them armor, and leave our poison alone.

I think giving a class the ability to bestow Resistance Enhancements would be more appropriate. Another option that I think has merit is giving Master Squad Leader a short duration 'group resist'. In my mind, this type of resist would not be something that prevents the application of poison/disease, but something that reduces the tick/duration of the applied infection.

Problem with CM's in PvP is that you need a doc to counter their poisons and diseases. No otherprofession effectively put this requirement on PvP. This is really only a problem with the mind poisons as you can't heal them with stims to keep them at bay. With a health or action poison you can at least try to run away and heal yourself till it goes away.

Still, I'm not going to cry nerf here, having played a Rifleman/CM recently I know I have a lot of weaknesses. No state defenses at all. kd/dizzy is nasty. And, once I throw the first poison/disease, I get pretty much everyone after me, so if I can't keep out of range i'm in a lot of trouble. And it's not only CM's that target the mind pool. Eyeshot with geo pistol, Headshot with jawa, or a hit to the head with a powerhammer for that matter isn't very pleasant either

I only have two issues with CM really, range > 64m and incap from poison+disease

All the other whining about mind damage and blabla is a problem with the whole combat system, not just CM IMHO.
