Thread: Some fresh thoughts on CM

Having been a CM for only a few weeks I have made some observations on it, this may be old stuff but still. I hear some ppl wanting to remove poision/disease from the game completly, this makes me worried as I love making and using poision. I can only make poision that ticks for 424 atm. Having tons of fun survaying for better stuff though and look forward to the day I make the servers best poision.


I can understand that CMs are overpowered though even if I cant make 1200 tick poision I can still imagine the effects. I spent some time reading posts here about "how to fix CM" and I've seen some really complex and funny solutions to what I concider a very simple problem:


CM does too much dmg too fast in PvP.


Solution:


Make poision do less dmg in PvP.


Cant be that awfully hard can it? I'm no expert on this sublject so I will leave it to others to determine how much less dmg, and so on. I want you all to think about my poision dmg, as I'm not a uber elite player with uber elite resources my poision would tick for 106 dmg, not really alot...


A cap on the dmg on poisions would be better.


Gonna take up another issue here as well, something that does not concern CM so much. Dont wanna get my post count up.

Can SOE pls make a Nerf this board, or whiner board. Ive been trying to find information about how what stats on resources determens what attribute and more such crafting related questions but all the post on the CM board are currently been taken up by "Nerf this" "Nerf that" on page after page and I dont really have the time to spend looking through all of it trying to find some usefull information.

So you want to punish those CMs that have worked hard to build up there poisons? Exactly how different would my poison be from the cheapest crap out there if it was capped? Why would the majority of the CM community on Kauri bother coming to my shop to purchase the best when some **edit** dabbler can make the same stuff I can using crap they buy from the bazaar? If that were to become the norm then let's cap everything craftable and make it just like Everquest....

Anyway, to claryfy.
CM skills are fine, dont change those. The problem lies in the crafting stage. Just as the "pre nerf FWG5s and T21s" we can simply make the poision too good atm. The most obvious sign of the is the +64m throwing range. This just illustates how poorly this has been coded. To throw something further then you can shoot with a rifle is just silly. Still not a skill problem but a crafting problem.


I'm conviced if some effort can be put into it we can have posion that is still potent and dangerus and reqiure thought and good tactics to beat, same as everything else. But at the same time not the uber pvp tool it is atm.

Of cource CMs who have gatherd resources for months should be rewarded with the best poison, thats what I'm planning to do. But instead of 1200dmg ticks it should be lower, naturaly my 424 tick would be lowerd by the same %. I just said "think of me with less the uber stuff" so you can that into calculation and not nerf dmg to much that poision gets useless for ppl who havent been CMs since the dawn of time.

just like to add you can't make a 1200 tick poison without spider venom, with the most uber resources you'll get around 700 for a single tick poison, AOE poisons your looking about 500 per tick.
