Thread: What will make +1 HAM on poison more tolerable

OK. I don't particularly like poison not incapping, but this isn't the thread for why it shouldn't. Here are the changes I would like to see in addition to the +1 to make it less devestating to me.

1) Cure Fire. If all DOTs no longer incap. the fire damage + wound combo is a nightmare. For the duration of the fire, you will continue to accrue battle fatigue even after you're down to 1 health and 799 wounds. I don't care if only Tailors get it (I'd like CMs to get water balloons ), but someone needs to be able to put out the flames.

2) Poison ticks against 1 health should cause some amount of battle fatigue similar to the way disease does, but at a reduced rate. this will add some measure of usefulness when the poison gets to the useless zone.

3a) Grenade Certifications. I'd like to see at least the fragmentation grenade certification moved down to master ranged combat support. In my mind, CMs take that tree in preperation for throwing their healing and poison grenades, and this fits right in. This will give us a weapon we can use (or at least try to use) to knock off the last bit of HAM on an opponent. Besides, I've yet to see a commando throw any grenade.

3b) Thrown Weapon Accuracy in the Distance Tree. If we can use grenades from the ranged support tree, I think this tree is the most appropriate place to put accuracy bonuses for our new weapon certification. It can be argued the Speed tree would be better as it doesn't have as many existing bonuses as the distance tree.

we need cure fire even if this +1 cap dosen't go through, water balloons, halon granades, CO2 bomb, something.

granades? we know how to throw already, why can't we toss a good granade

I've never been able to find the C12s. I used to loot the C22s all the time from the aqualish cave on Talus. I'd still like the changes with the certification and the throwing accuracy in our tree. I feel that will validate the Ranged Support Tree (something alot of CMs seem to have issues with it these days), and doesn't really hurt commandos since they don't use grenandes much, and would still get the certification since they need master marksman.

I wouldn't mind state effects that add on to the effect of a poison ticking away at that last +1. something to the effect of.

Health Poison - Dizzy state

Action poison - Increased battle fatigue

Mind poison - Blinded state

Those would be neat too. although action should probably get Stun state just to be uniform.

At least on the Fire cure I FINALLY got permission from our Dev to post the response to that Issue over on the Doc forums. Below is my paraphrase of their response on the issue (I wasn't given permission for a direct quote.):

"They do not have a problem with adding some fire dot removal. Fire dots can get nasty on Tatooine where there's only two places on the map to put them out. Again this may take some time to get into the game, but at least it is being looked into now.”

Sorryto butt in on your discussion, but everyone has a C12 light fragmentation grenade cert. Not only does the cert work, but damage on these got increased about a month ago or so (should be over 400-800 damage with 5m radius from a decent one, possibly higher with better materials). There's no need to move the C22 down from Commando if you are looking to do just 1 point of damage.

yay!
