How do get your Holocron as MCM without asking for much help (note - only applies to IMPERIAL players, rebels do not need to apply, we don't need rebel Jedi anyhow):

#1 Visit Naboo and complete Imperial Theme park
#2 Run a few more imperial delivery missions to get enough FPs for Dark Trooper.
#3 Buy Dark Trooper
#4 Run Datooine 7k+ Imperial destroy missions, make sure you take a few pot-shots into every Rebel Surface Marshall there is (he is what stands between you and Jedi!).
#5 When you have enough FPs - get AT-ST, continue step #4 till you have 3-4 holocrons.
#6 (optional) Visit Naboo and say thanks to the Emperor for showing you the true path of the force and providing equipment to move along the path.

Now for a limited time...regardless of faction (get it before the next publish)...

Get a decent tank pet (gurreck, krevol).

Find lone FS critter on dant. Stand at your max range, throw poison...retreat back out of rifle range (they almost all seem to have rifle skills). Toss on a dollop of disease if you'd like.

Get in a bleeder in the first couple minutes so it doesn't despawn (haven't figured out why but they do if you don't get physical damage in within teh first like 90 seconds) and then stay out of range until about half...just keep fading back as he follows but not so far back he'll turn around.

Wait 'em out.

When you're ready, tell pet to attack. Btw, do have pet buffed (I had my gurreck over 6k on many occassions). Thros ranged stims while you pound on the guy with your marksman skills.

As pet mind gets low, quickly have him follow, trick, attack. You'll get it done and back on him before the FS critter reacquires target (namely you). Keep this up intil the thing's dead.

Alternate though slightly more risky method...keep at that /warningshot that most CMs don't use, and try to get the FS character to retreat from you while the poison does it's thang.

Have a lot of patience because the drops are rare.

This is yet another reason why the MD/MCM people who we suck at PvE are just wrong. There is no damage mitigation to poison/disease and on stuff wtih 90% resists across the boardour poison starts to look **edit** effective.

Jacore (who is finally done with dancing and out looking for that second Holocron).

How does a MCM/MD get a holocron? If you're factioned then you go covert, make some really nice poisons(or have a friend make them) and then find a nice spot to camp. Then do the follow:

For Imperials:

  1. Find Surface Marshall Spawn Point

  2. Poison the HELL out of him

  3. When he gets to the point he's almost dead, fire a few shots into him

  4. Loot

  5. Get madat the fact all he carried was 79 credits and a locked container

  6. Repeat 1-4(with a lot of5 for 'flavor')until you find one that actually has a holocron

For Rebels:

  1. Same as above, but change 'Surface Marshall' to 'Dark Trooper'

Not sure, my combat skills aren't nearly high enough to get the higher level imperial missions. But, if you can find a rebel base or outpost, there's usually one or two at these bases you can poison and kill. And, since you can poison with impunity while covert(at least with NPCs) without the fear of aggro, you can take your time with it.

I'm on Datooine now doing difficulty 84 missions, and I haven't seen any surface marshalls yet. What level do they begin spawing at?

Are they only fs on dantooine? I get Surface Marshall missions on Tatooine all the time and they are easy as hell to kill (well for me anyways, Master Swordsman)
